Jann, you're right that statue looks so cold. I don't know how that's possible but she looks freezing.:rotfl:

How cute! are they twins?

Yes they are the twins that I nanny for. The one sitting down had no idea what was coming. Here's her reaction:

Winter here has been pretty nonexistant so far. We have had rain and one day with a VERY small amount of ice. We did finally get a pretty day on Sunday and of course I had to go out with my new Rebel XTi.

I would have been so happy with this one - if not for the twig (blurred) coming up from the bottom.

Had to go grocery shopping in the middle of a blizzard on Sunday so I was able to get a few shots while my wife drove.

This is on the road back to our house. The visibility couldn't have been more than 50 feet. Combined with the fact that we live out in the country it wound up looking like we were in the middle of complete nothingness.

But after 35 straight days of complete ground cover I am really ready for winter to be done! ;)

This is as much "winter" as San Diego has seen. Blankets of frost.

not that you'd need it much in san diego :) but unless you meant for the blue color you might be able to set your white balance for snow/frost...i have a rebel xt and it takes a photo of the white stuff and then put it in your custom white balance.,, i would think your manual would tell you how to do it for your camera.. someone said white stuff turns blue like that due to reflection or something, i just know the first pics i took with my camera this winter all the snow was blue till is set it for custom

Oooh! Thanks for the tip!!

I'll have to get my manual out.

We had a very light powdery snow last week.

I tried to capture the sunlight catching the flakes.

I've avoided looking at this thread because I am not a fan of ol' man winter, but I'm headed south in a few days, so I figured I could take it now. :sunny: I was missing out--there are some really wonderful pictures here!

Here's one I took of dd playing in the snow mounds in front of our house a few days ago. Looking at it again, I'm thinking maybe I should clone out the tree trunk in the background.
