I would love to get a phone that has a touch screen but the texting never seems to work well for me. I can't believe I have fingers that are unusually large but anytime I try texting with one it doesn't seem to pick up the letter I'm hitting. So is it just me or do others have issues with touchscreens too?

I find myself being limited to phones that have qwerty keyboards.

I have an EVO with the qwerty keyboard. I just can't type on touchscreen only. Doesn't work for me either :)

It took me a while to get used to texting on my LG. I would accidently hit another letter, now I'm not doing it as much. :thumbsup2

I can turn my EVO sideways and the keyboard is larger, which helps me with my big fingers.

This. Also, it took some adjusting (I had an original Droid with a keyboard, switched to a Droid X2 which doesn't, because I wanted the bigger screen) but I do much better now.

It is very weird at first, but you get used to it. I used to think that I needed a querty keyboad, but now I'm so used to the touch screen on my fascinate that I'd never go back.

I'll have to give it another try the next time I'm at a verizon store. Good to know it's not just me!

It took me a few days to get used to my iPhone's keypad, and honestly, I do wish it had the option for a physical keyboard. But I love the rest of it so much that I'm willing to put up with the occasional wrong letter.

I had get use to my touchscreen too. It took me forever to learn it. Now I love my LG Prime.

I always swore by the qwerty keyboard until I got a phone with Swype. (I have a Galaxy S) Now texting is a breeze!! LOVE Swype. :goodvibes

I hate my touchscreen. I have tried to live with it for 18 months, but I am going back to Blackberry....Yippeeeeee

It does take some getting used to, but it does help that most of the touch screen phones have spell check. Trust me you'll get used to it in no time.

I have a Blackberry Torch with both a touchscreen and a qwerty keyboard so I have the best of both worlds. I really like my Torch for just that reason.

I've found the key is to find a spot on the inside edge of your thumb. Don't try and use the tip of your finger. In most cases, it is too big.

Most phones turn sideways to make a larger keyboard, so try that.

Ive been using touch screen phones for 3 years or so. I think anyone can get used to one with some time.

I have a samsung sch-u370 (it's like the Samsung Reality but no data plan required) I think it may only be through Verizon but it has a touch screen and a keyboard so I can do either.

This is why I refuse to get an iPhone. I already have two iPod Touches which are the same size, so I know how frustrated I would get with a touch pad when I email and text. I would absolutely hate it. So, I stick with a Blackberry. I  my Blackberry, but then I really don't care about apps either and love the email function of the Blackberry, so it works well for me.

My DH had an iPhone 3GS for a while, and I wanted to throw that thing out the window every time I had to use the keyboard. It didn't register the keystroke until you let off of the letter, so I'd end up hitting the same letter multiple times screaming "why won't it type this *#%@$&! letter?!?!"

That stupid iPhone put me off touchscreen-only phones for years. Then I decided to give the Samsung Infuse a try, and I'm pretty happy with it. Swype helps a ton!

Dumb question....What is swype texting?

Swype is an app on my droid (LG Optimus S) that allows me to swipe or move my finger across the keyboard to spell the word instead of typing each letter hunt and peck style. Imagine spelling disney on your keyboard by running your finger from d-i-s-n-e-y and the phone spells it for you automatically.

My phone occasionally puts the wrong word in there...it seems to think I want to say things that I don't but I can fix them pretty easily. I LOVE Swype.
