Phone Calls to Rent Points

Has anyone ever received a phone call soliciting you to rent or trade your DVC points? We received a call this evening from a man asking us if we were interested in renting out our points. I did not personally speak with him buy he was very persistent. Even after we said we were plannng on using all our points he kept asking about next year. This was in specific regards to our DVC points. Our concern is, how did he get our phone number? We own another time share (not point based) and often times receive mailings but never a phone call. I know some companies sell mailing lists, but does Disney sell information including our phone numbers? I would hope not. We are new members and bought through resale about 3 months ago, would the resale broker give out this information? Anyone had a similar experience?

Disney doesn't sell member numbers but my guess is that your resale broker was the source of giving out info. Sounds like it's probably a rental broker looking to get DVC points to rent.

I am confident that DVC does not divulge any information aboutit's members. Some of the information is public knowledge once the deed has been recorded with the county. This is a likely source for contact. I have received many written inquiries aboout selling DVC contracts, but never a phone call.

It sounds like an aggressive broker has gone the extra mile to find a phone number for the recorded county information.

Like Doc, we have received inquirys about selling our DVC, but never a phone call.

I've been calledtwice by two different companies, but it was about selling the contract, not renting points.

We have been contacted to both rent and sell our pts through two different companies. They have gotten names and addresses through the registry of deeds or county offices were all the DVC deeds are recorded. This is all public information.
