Phone booth in Epcot...

I thought the idea was for us to do the calling, not wait to be called.

If you were there for ten minutes, you could have called the number from your cell phone and watched how people reacted when they answered the phone. I don't think you should be mad that no one from this forum happened to call at the time you happened to be there unless you had actually scheduled something with someone ahead of time. It's not like people sit around dialing those numbers all day and all night.

When I called last week I have the feeling the guy I talked to thought I was a freak or that he was on candid camera. Still, I wished him a great vacation!

I was simply outside at the phones, and listening for them to ring.

As most others would just walk on by. But being in the know of how the phones work, I thought I'd give it a few mins and say hello to a friendly DIS'er if they were to call.

Love this! We're taking DS5 and DS2 in 10 days...

I'm going to see if we can time it so their Grandmom and Grandad can call while we are there.

I just tried to call 2 of the booths... couldn't resist. The same little boy picked up and was totally confused.

The first time I heard theme-park type noise... then a "Was I supposed to pick up?" Then he hung up.

The second booth... he picked up and I just heard the same little voice say something to someone and then hang up.

Wish I'd gotten to say "Have a great vacation!" But, it was still fun!

just returned home the other day...we were in rose and crown and I saw people taking pictures inside the left phone booth, so I called the number. A woman picked up and after chatting about our trips I asked where she was from, turned out she lives two towns over from me! Its a small world after all!

You got through on the left booth? Cool! They must have fixed it because I always have gotten something like a fax tone when I call that booth.

The last few times I've gone to Epcot and stood a short distance away to call, I've only called the middle and right phones. Partly because they are the first ones people encounter when they approach from the main walkway, but also because I never had luck with the one on the left.

Does anybody have the number for the one over across the street, between the R & C and the fish & chips stand? I don't know if that one actually works, since it's rigged to be part of the KimPossible mission.

yes we got through on the left phone booth twice actually during the trip....the first was above and the second we told our sis in law to call it and then we picked it up....so yes it does work!

A lady just answered and I asked how the weather was at Epcot. She said, "I'm kinda scared." Then she hung up...LOL.

Finally got someone who wanted to talk...LOL. She was from Tampa. I asked if she has ever heard about the DIS boards. She said no. I asked about the crowds and she said they were good. I thought President's Day weekend was supposed to be busy?

I just called and asked the lady who answered if she could send me some fish and chips. She was no fun! She said "I don't fish" and hung up! HELLO!!! You're in ENGLAND and that is a specialty there! I think I will try and call again and hope to get someone FUN!

I called back again and asked for Mickey when a lady answered! She was better than the last person I got. She said Mickey wasn't there but Minnie was! She was shocked that the phone rang and asked for the number!

darn it..one of my best friends was drinking his way around the world yesterday and posting pics from each country. I probably could have timed it prefectly to when he stumbled thru .

i was at epcot a few weeks ago and we were taking pics of my friends 4 yr old in the phone booth. We saw him on the phone but didnt know if he was talking to someone or just pretending. Then a lady came over and told us she was just talking to him. i dont know what they were talking about
