And Naan bread service with red pepper hummus and cucumber raita to begin my food adventure that I had been looking forward for months in preparation for the trip, along with a sampling of Watermelon, Cucumber and fennel salad.
Sanaa was not a place that I knew my family would enjoy, so this was my chance to step outside of the box a little with food. Cammy and I had already decided that we were going to split a meal (gotta save room for those cupcakes and cocktails later on)…
So we split butter chicken and beef short ribs with rice. Oh my gosh, one of the yummiest things I have eaten EVER! I would have drowned myself in the butter chicken sauce! The meal was not a disappointment, only the service. Apparently our waiter knew that we was charging the gratuity to us anyway, so he felt the need not to give us any kind of decent service…in fact he disappeared entirely after we asked for our bill. Did this guy not know that we were on a schedule? Waiting we struck up a conversation with a family next to us who wanted to know all about running at Disney. We chatted with them for a good 20 minutes and still we had no waiter and no bills. Edie finally took charge and went looking for him and practically drug him back to our table by the ear…don’t mess with Edie! Finally paid out we made our way onto the savannah to admire the zebras while others took a bathroom break.
We made our way back to shuttle van, only to see if pull away and the next one not arriving for 20 minutes. The CM at the door mentioned that it was just a short walk to Jambo house, I looked at him and the words “H E Double Hockey Sticks NO” flew out of my mouth without any filter, did I really look like I wanted to walk…see these medals…I am done with walking.
Shocked at my mouth, I apologized to him, made him hold the flats and waited for the shuttle with Buffy while the others went to the bus stop to catch a bus to MK and then the POLY for the start of our Cupcake Crawl, which we were quickly becoming very late too!
