Could someone tell me a bit about the Phineas and Ferb thing at Epcot? What does it involve, how long does it take, what age is it geared for, etc? My kids are 7, 5 and 4 and my 7 year old son loves Phineas and Ferb. Just wondering if it's something worth doing. Thanks!

The Phineas and Ferb Experience was at DTD, not Epcot, and closed December 1 according to everything I've seen.

Epcot has the Agent P World Showcase Adventure. You get a cellphone that leads you on a "scavenger hunt" through the countries finding clues to help defeat Dr. Doofenschmirtz' latest evil plan. You can play one country or as many as you want.

Ok, thanks for clarifying - the Agent P Adventure is what I'm wondering about!

The agent P adventures are a lot of fun. DD(6), loved them on our trip about a month ago. I think DH enjoyed them as much as she did. They are available in several countries. Each country takes around 20-30 minutes, depending on how fast you find the places you are supposed to go for your mission. You can do one country, or all of them. We wound up doing all of them over the course of 2 days, because DD really loved them. Last year when they had the Kim Possible missions, we only did 2 because I told DD she should save some for the next trip, and when they replaced Kim Possible with Perry she was a little irritated that she didn't get to do the rest of those, so she was determined to do every one of the Perry this year.

What is really neat is that you get to certain locations where the phone leads you to, and then when you push the button on the phone certain things happen at that location. I don't want to spoil any of it for you, but some of them are really neat. For anyone wondering if they are the same as the Kim Possible events, there are definitely some new things that have been added. The week we were there, the CM told us that they had just added a couple of new ones within the last week or two as well, and they might not be done yet.

I think your son will love it. The 5 year old might like it too. DD, really enjoyed the Kim Possible when she was 5, although she needed more help that year.

It is definitely worth at least trying one country. If you don't like it, you don't have to do any more countries, and you could even quit and not finish the mission if you really didn't think it was any fun.

Thank you! Are there any countries in particular that you think we'd want to include based on what you experienced there?

We liked Germany the best and France would be the runner up. The UK was fun too. They are all pretty fun. Our least favorite was probably Mexico because it was all enclosed inside and could be kind of crowded, and it didn't have as fun of things to happen when you pushed the button as some of the other countries (unless they have added to it since our trip).

Did you see Doofenshmirtz there, because that was kinda neat.

Thanks! I just told my son about this and he is very excited! (And then we had to watch the youtube video of Test Track, lol!)

We heard him, but we didn't see him. Sorry we missed that. We liked Mexico, just not as well as the other countries. I'm sure we will try Mexico again on our next trip because DD just loves those missions. I think it isn't exactly the same every time you do it, I think they switch the missions up just a little. DD was teaming up with some kids she met and made instant friends with in a couple of the countries, and we noticed that a couple of times there was a point where they would be sent different ways to different spots for the mission. We actually did Germany twice because we spent another evening at Epcot with some friends on our AK day and their daughter wanted to try one, and we noticed that the 2nd time we did it, we got sent to a place we had not gone the first time, but there was also one we did before that wasn't included.

Cheryterese I'm glad your son is excited! Have a great trip!

My kids really enjoyed it ! We were directed to Norway and we had some issues with things not working. COm eto find out it was having issues so they reset our phone and we hit Mexico since it was the closest. I wish we would have been able to do more countries but we had dinners reservations.
It did take a good 25 minutes to complete the mission. If you do not make it to the next place within the time limit the phone will shut off automatically.

Can you restart it from the next place once you get there or is it something that has to be done start to finish all at once?

We did one in the UK during the week after thanksgiving. Even with low crowds we still tended to get bunched up or bottle necked with other people doing the Agent P thing too. We waited behind two other groups for the water thing at the end. It kind of took some of the fun out of it for me. But my 5 year old didn't seem to mind, she still loved every minute of it.

My ds loved it. I didn't really like Mexico because it was all in doors. We spent more time in the UK then we ever really have before. That's one reason I love this idea. We spend time in each country.

That's what I'm hoping for - more time in each country! We did the Kidcot fun stops last time and my son specifically asked that we not do those this time! I love the countries though.

I don't know how much time it takes for the FONE to shut down between missions, but when that happened because we had a dining res and did some other things we just stopped by one of the sign up kiosks and the CM reactivated it for us. She also asked what country we wanted to go to.

Ah, but now the Kidcot has Agent Perry on a stick! :) The communicators shut down after 15 minutes of inactivity, so if you get sidetracked doing something in the country or shopping, it can happen. DH figured out how to hit some button every so often so it thought we were doing something, if we got distracted by shopping or a performance, etc. I can't remember what he hit, but I will ask him if he remembers. If it shuts down, you have to go to one of the Agent Perry Mission Kiosks to have it restarted and I think you will have to start the mission over. The Kiosks are several places around WS so you won't have far to go if you have a problem.

Agent Perry on a stick?!?! Well that might be a different story!
