Philly experts: how much time?

I haven't been to Philly since the new Constitution center opened. What would be the average amount of time to expect to spend in there? Also, anyone do the Independence Hall tour recently -- how long would that be?

I'm working out an itinerary for a quick weekend trip with the kids and I'm wondering how to fit all my plans together.

Are you taking a tour with a guide, or are you doing it on your own?

On our own, mostly -- although if I remember right, Independence Hall is a guided tour -- do they allow self-guided tours there?

Two years ago we spend the morning in the Constitution Center and that was a good enough period of time. Very nice, worth doing, but not all day. Make sure you don't miss the in the round "show," that's the best part by far.

Any idea how long the lines are for the Liberty Bell on a Sunday morning this time of year? I am taking the girls to NYC this weekend but we are flying in and out of PHL airport. Our flight out on Sunday leaves at 2:30pm and I wondered how much time we would need to wait in line for the Bell. Anyone have a guess?

I haven't been since the new remodel but when I lived there on a Sunday in the winter there were very few tourists and no school groups so usually very manageable. Just check the hours because they are shorter in the winter.
