Philly DVCers

I'd venture to say your mileage is off by a factor of 10, but my BIL who was raised in south philly before fleeing to the suburbs has been raved about someplace out in bucks county. Me I'm a purist. There's only 2 places that we think of when someone says cheesesteak.

Hummm... Pat's and Geno's maybe??

40 miles - you have to take the shore into account.

There are some really good steak shops in AC, Ventnor, OC, and WW and I have even had an "above average" cheesesteak in collegeville (i don't remember where exactly).

As for Pat's and Geno's:

Geno's! By far! The best!

I consider myself an authority. My parents own a lunch truck. Even though my father will kill me for saying this.... I'll be the FIRST to say that there's nothing like Geno's steaks.

Besides, I always found Pat's to look shady (with the yellow exterior lights and greasy windows). But on a recent trip, they actually had replaced the lights with white and the windows looked clean. Still, Geno's looks cleaner (I could eat off of that floor) and the service is MUCH more friendly. Their ketchup tastes better too!

On an other Philly / Disney note, is the Philly Disney Quest completely scrapped? It would be nice to see a touch of the magic up this way.

Yep..those are the two places. Since tastes do differ, we consider both to be the only places to go...and they probably are if you're in philly and it's 5 in the morning. :)

As to a Philly DQ, the parking lot they were going to use became a hole in the ground, sat idle for years and is now once again, a parking lot. What I don't get is with all of his money, Eisner himself could have financed the darn thing. *sigh*

Well, technically I'm not from Philly, as you can see by my user name, but I was born at Methodist Hospital in Philly, and lived there until I was nine, still have family there, only live 25 minutes away, cheer for the Eagles and Flyers, so in my heart I'm from Philly.:D

We are from Vineland, NJ. Mom was born in South Philly, I went to college in Wayne (Cabrini) and my DH worked at the Philly Stock Exchange for several years. I say that I am from the "Philadelphia area".;)

Yo, Philly DVCers!

There are 5 of us here in the Mayfair section of Northeast Philly. We joined DVC in 1994 and I at that time I felt like the only person in the city who ever heard of DVC. We heard about it from a good friend who lives in Delaware and grew up with me in NE Phiily.

If the person who started this thread, PhillyDvcOKW, is who I think it is, they live about 3 blocks away from me.

Hey, micki7337, I use to go to grade school in Parkwood, (St. Anselm) and delivered pizza there about 26 years ago.

I was a Decatur girl but St. Anselm was right around the corner. Did you deliver pizza for Pat's? If so, then you would probably know my family ------::yes::
