Ding is a small program that you download from the www.iflyswa.com website. SWA will release specials called "dings" that can only be purchased through this DING software. Once you download it and register for it, a small icon will reside in your taskbar at the bottom right. When SWA releases a Ding special, the icon will change to let you know you have a special. These specials are for limited time only (maybe only 3-6 hours) and only for select cities. For some like me, it is a waiting game to get my city to Orlando for my paritcular dates. Some will book with SWA at a regular rate and then wait for the Ding to change thier flights and save money.
There is a thread in this forum that tracks the sale fares for Dings for Orlando. Check it out for an idea of the great rates that are sometimes available with Ding.
it's the last day for the current SW Click 'n' Save.....If you haven't gotten that Ding you've been looking for at Southwest, you may find a good price here for travel in January 2006
Aha! The reason why I feel so clueless is b/c I don't usually fly SWA. In fact, I never have, just my dad. But this is good to know for when I want to come home again. Thanks for the info!
