Ok! Had to take a burger break! On to day 3!
This was our 20th anniversary day! We went to MGM for Early Entry. I forgot to mention about the rain at MGM the evening before. Remember I said something about the bus transportation being efficient in the morning? Well , in the evening it's a little bit of a different story! The afternoon shower became a drizzle by the time we got ready to leave. We must have waited 40 minutes for the bus. And what was so strange was, the line was always the longest for the All-Star resorts, but the buses that kept coming were for all the other resorts! Needless to say, we were very miserable waiting for those buses. We did have our rain ponchos though, so that helped some. And every time a bus would come, everyone would break into applause!
Ok, back to the morning....sorry I sometimes tend to ramble, especially when I forget something! We went straight to Rock-n-Roller coaster again, then Tower of Terror. We had breakfast at Starring Rolls. We had a big lunch planned so wanted to eat light. I said light, not cheap! Anyway, daughter had Choc. Chip Muffin (huge!), son and husband had Apple Strudel and I had Cinnamon Swirl Sticky Bun. With 4 drinks that came out to $16.21.
I know this is totally off the subject, but I have to throw this in, because this is when I noticed it! Did you know birds that seem to be of the same species make totally different sounds in other environments? For example, we have a bird in Texas called the Common Grackle. Well, the black birds I saw here look just like them, but make a totally different sound! Now, I thought that was very interesting!
We did the Backlot Tour and got a little wet, but not too bad. Indiana Jones was fun. Hunchback was good, but it was very hot in that theater, the fans didn't help much. Backstage Pass was pretty interesting, we got to see the shoot for a new show, Sheena, but they were on break so didn't actually see any filming. This was really pretty short.
We had a PS for 50's Prime Time at 2:00. I asked to be seated with someone who would really interact with us since this was our anniversary. We were waited on by Aunt Karen. She was pretty good. The food was really good. I had the Fried Chicken and my husband had the Roast. Son had Giovanni's Pasta and daughter had Ham sandwich. The choc. malt I had was excellent, but way too much to finish. I was a good girl and ate all my green beans, but my husband had to be coaxed. I told on my kids for burping out loud and they almost had to sing I'm A Little Teapot, but I think she could tell they were very shy! At the end of the meal she called my daughter aside and I suspected something was up, but she never told us what she said. A few minutes later she came back with a small cake, devided in two and had us feed it to each other while the tables near us sang Happy Anniversary to You! I could barely stuff that half down my throat! It was a lot of fun. We waddled out of there and checked out a few more things before leaving for our daily nap. We never did make it to that pool. And I bought a new swimsuit and everything!
After our rest we headed to Downtown Disney. We decided to take a taxi, because we knew it would take too long on the bus. Went to the Comedy Club. Lots of fun! After that we went to the Adventurer' Club. What a blast it was here! I could have stayed longer but knew we had to move on. As I had read in the guidebooks, I told the bartender I had heard he could "make some magic." He picked up two straws and then took them away and say "magic!" Then he asked if I had any money, he could make that disappear too. Ha! Ha! So, I said I guessed those people who wrote the guidebooks were liars. A few minutes later I noticed my husband was getting shorter by the minute. When I returned from the restroom, he was all the way down to my shoulders. For those of you who don't know, just go in and sit on one of the barstools! After the little performance in the main room, we were instructed to go into the mask room. This was really hilarious! The actress, can't remember what she went by, loves to pick on you, in a fun way of course. I wore a halter top that night, and she called it a tissue and told me to cover up for God's sake! Really, really fun!
We looked around at a few shops and because it was so late, and only for that reason, we opted to eat at McDonalds. I told myself I will never eat at McDonalds at Disney World, I can do that anytime. But, it happened. We decided to forego the New Years Eve show. Daughter was not in a good mood, and neither was I so we left.
On to day 4....
