Hi everyone! I got some pretty good news from my Doctor tonight. I do indeed have an aggravated PF (good to have that confirmed), but it isn't what he considers really terrible. He asked me if I want to run the marathon and I told him "Yes!" and he said I should be able to with some level of discomfort. He prescribed a non-inflamatory and gave me over a months worth of samples. He said I can take Tylenol with it, not Advil or Aleve. I will take one a day for as long as it takes.
The Doctor thinks that the PF will mostly clear up with conscientious stretching before and after runs, the anti-inflamatory medicine and using the Tylenol as needed. He told me to "Run!".
He doesn't think I will cause it further harm/damage if I run, which was a welcome comment.
He did say that if I get through the Phila. Marathon and have issues afterwards with the PF, he will refer me to a Podiatrist.
So, now I need to figure out when I can run next, how long, etc. Look Out Baby I'M BACK!
I think I need to do one of my patented anti-tapers, then taper again.

So glad you're okay to get back at it
Sorry your cat's not doing to well. How'd the vet's go
. Love, love, love the pretzels
.
. Funny you mention Chicago's post-marathon grub being weak. I thought the same thing about MCM and WDW's is pretty lame too. I guess the larger the marathon the less likely you are to get a good choice of food offerings
. From what Lou says, we may be pleasantly surprised in the city of brotherly love
so I"m going to say rest day today
. I will attempt a LR this weekend
? Granted, I'll be pretzels and mustard all weekend
? I'm getting a little nauseous just thinking about it now
To be honest, I am more of a Primo's Hoagies kind of guy. One bite of an Old Italian hoagie (sharp provolone, bruschuto, etc.) and you'll get all of the salt back in your body that you lost during the race.
. Anywho, our train gets in @ noon. We'll dump out stuff off @ the hotel & head straight to the expo - I suppose that means we'll be there about 1p.m. I'm all for getting a PhillyCheeseThing @ Reading station (reminds me of Monopoly..."take a ride on the Reading"!). Hope you stayed home & that your belly & your cat feel better.
I'm trying NOT to freak out this time around, but you continue to torture me!

Just for that I'm going to force feed you a cheese steak!!
