So Cindy, does this mean you'll be doing this event again next year? I know I will!

I ran 4 easy this evening & it felt ok, although I had to stop a little after mile 2 and take my shoe off to rub out some nasty cramp in my non-existent arch :rotfl: . My new shoes came in - same as always Saucony Grid Stabil 6 - and apparently they need a little more breaking in before Philly!

Good night all!

Love the VIP PoP. I showed that to Matt and he said that he would buy a Brooks shirt just to get in (and I know he’s not kidding).
Cindy - I wear Brooks shoes so I'm in!

I'm glad you enjoyed the race and your time in WDW. I really want to get down for the Grub and Drink Festival but it gets a little tougher each year with the oldest daughter in middle school (and the 3 weeks in August)(and the no kids trip in January)(and the assorted Minnie trip)(and the fact that a big chunk of a 700 Billion bailout seems to be coming directly from our account).

I'm waiting to see what the MCMer's plan for a meet up but the bag check area sounds like a good plan.

JoHo - Don't they say that proper running shoes don't need to be broken in? Maybe it's not the shoes. Maybe your feet need to get use to the new rides.

And no, Howard is completely wrong. Men would like nothing else than to talk, talk, talk while our gal listens. That way we can share our feelings, our hopes, our dreams, our fears and insecurities. That's so much better than a knock down, drag out naked wrestling match with our hot wife!

Dave - You've still got time to worry about a pace for Philly. Don't give up on a sub-4 quite yet. Then again, be smart and don't hurt yourself either.

No running for me today but I've got 18 on tap for the morning.

America's Best Dance Crew is the American Idol for Dance Groups. It's like a hip hop dance competition:confused3 :rotfl: . That being said, I had a great time and it was lots of fun:thumbsup2 .

Mike - :rotfl: I can't even touch that one...

Jodi - Still lots of time to break those shoes in before Philly:yay: .

Cindy - Thanks for the trip report and glad you both had an awesome time at WDW and AKL. Definitely the best time of the year to be in the World:love: . Best of luck at ATM:worship:

Colleen - Congrats on registering for Philly:banana: .

Dave - Don't give up on the sub 4 dream just yet:thumbsup2

Steve, Howard, Lou, Chester - :wave2:

Nothing for me today but that's a good thing:cloud9: . I'll run tomorrow early and then go long on Sunday. I live near a bike trail now so I hope to take advantage of it for a nice long run:hippie: . Have a great weekend guys:grouphug:

So Cindy, does this mean you'll be doing this event again next year?

I'd like to (or maybe try the ToT 13K) but I'm not sure another trip to Disney is going to fit in the vacation budget for next year. But 2010 for sure. I'd also really like to see Disney do an early Dec. Christmas themed race. I'd totally get sucked into doing that one.

Mike - How'd the 18 go.popcorn:: One year you should consider skipping the Jan. no kids trip for a Sept./Oct. no kids trip. Food and Wine is a great no kids activity.

Sara - Enjoy your long run this weekend. I live near a bike trail too and really enjoy the fact that I get to do all of my runs there instead of having to run in the streets.

Forgot to mention that I ran 5 easy miles this morning. It was 46 degrees out! Weather is looking good for the ATM!

Mike~ Yeah, right! :lmao:

I am planning on a short run (5?) tonight after work if I can fit it in before a home high school football game where our DS is playing in the marching band at half-time.

Tomorrow I will try to get a run in also but I am unsure of the distance I'll want to run. On Sunday morning I am running the Delaware Distance Classic 15K! I want to save my legs for that. This will be my third time running this Fall Classic here in Wilmington, Delaware. I ran it in 2005 and 2007. My best time to date, the 2005 run, is 1:23:05 (8:56 pace).

I think I am in a good position in my training to get a new PR for this distance this weekend. We'll see. Wish me luck!

Hi to Sara, Colleen, Jodi, Cindy, Matt, Mike, Dave, Lou, Chester and Dave!

Hello Philabots!

Steve~ Good Luck with your race this weekend! :cheer2:

I ran after work and had a rough time of it, shin splints probably caused by not stretching properly before my run. I paid the price and had to stop multiple times to stretch. My results:

Miles: 4.0
Time: 35:30
Pace: 8:52

Splits: 8:15, 9:17, 9:01, 8:54

I felt better by mile 3 but at the end of two, I felt worse than I did post Philadelphia Distance Run two weeks ago. I guess I learned a cheap lesson - take more time to stretch before any run, no matter the duration. :thumbsup2

I am running a 15K on Sunday (Delaware Distance Classic) morning. I'll post results.

Enjoy your weekend!

Cindy - Two words for the 18 miles: NO BUENO! It's done. I've purged it from my memory or else I may would have to seriously consider a different hobby.

I hear you about F&W but to be honest, it was still great even with the kids. The only thing I missed out on was the Sam Adams free beer, uh, I mean seminar.

Howard - Good luck on the 15K. I'm sure you'll lay your old PR to rest.

Sara - That's great about the bike trail. And probably not a bunch of two-wheelers out there at 4:00AM to get in your way.

Steve - Who are the mighty soccer opponents this weekend? The Dragonflies? Maybe the Unicorns?

Jodi - God has smote me for ragging on you about your shoes. I'm going to have to return the pair I got a few weeks ago. The left one makes a clicking sound with every stride and it drives me FREAKIN' NUTS!! Then I think I must be changing my gait to try to make it stop and my legs start to hurt. Anyways, I'm just a few days short of the 30 day return policy. We'll see how many funny looks I get from running store folks.

I'd say more about my run today, but as stated above I am trying to forget it.

I've been away for a couple of days. Wow, lots of activity.

Howard - Good luck at the DE Distance Classic tomorrow. You know what they say, "pimpin ain't ez". I'm not sure where the pimp stuff started but figured I would chime in late.

Mike - You got in 18...nice. Add 2 more and your done for your MCM training.

Hey Jodi, Sara, Cindy, Steve, Chester, Indiana Dave, Colleen, and occasional driver byers!

Got in 6 miles on Thurs at 8:45mpm pace. Bagged running for an 8-mile bike ride through the trails yesterday. Heading to A.C. today for the first time in like 5 months to get in 15+ miles on the beach/boards.

Still feeling a little sick. Whatever I have has drifted to my throat/chest. I literally cannot speak. Lost my voice yesterday and it's still gone.

Have a great weekend!!!!

Lou

Can't get out door...

Don't feel like running 16 miles...

Will try tomorrow...

ETA: OK, I ended up getting out there afterall. I decided not to do 16 miles though. I just did 8 miles, and that was a good decision. I hobbled my way through 8 miles, and don't think I could have done 16 if I tried.

Hey Huggy Bots - All-about-me-warning!

Got in 15 this a.m. & it was pretty good, just eaked out an average of under 10mm. Good moral booster, that's for sure. Guess i'll sign up for Philly tonight.

No time to post any more. Sorry for those with crap runs today...for once I wasn't in your company!

I'll be back this p.m. to post more.

Quick Post!

Jodi
- Happy to hear you had a good run. Did you register?

Dave
- Sorry your run sucked. I hope the next one goes better.

Mike
- I won't mention that which shall not be named.

Lou - Hope the AC run went well.

Howard - Good luck tomorrow! Looking forward to your race report.

I was planning on doing 17 this morning but decided to do only 16 instead. Really, what's one mile? It was an ok run, except I felt a bit worn down towards the end (good thing I have a race tomorrow:rolleyes: ).

Tomorrow's Army Ten Miler should prove interesting. I don't have high hopes of any great performance given that this is about as un-tapered as one could get. I'll see how I feel in the morning as to what pace I set out at. I'll be back tomorrow night with a race report.

Jodi - Nice to hear you had a good run today. Ride the wave of confidence and they will continue to go well, Grasshopper.

Dave - Very impressive getting out when you had all but bagged the run. Listen to the hip though if it's asking for more rest.

Lou - I hope you are feeling better. Gee, with the laryngitis, how will you talk with your DW while she just listens? You know, your hopes, your dreams, your fears, your insecurities. Because, as Jodi knows, that's what really what we men want most of all.

Cindy - The Voldemort of LR's!!! I love it. I hereby dub that a new term.

By the way, have I mentioned lately that YOU ARE A MACHINE!! Best of luck at the ATM. Have fun!

Colleen - You still out there?

Sara, Steve, Chester, Howard, and everyone else out there in lurkerville :wave2: :wave2:

Rest day for me today, and 7 or 8 tomorrow.

Jodi - Sounds like we had the same run.

ALL ABOUT ME TOO

I eeked out 16 miles in A.C. in just under a 10 mpm pace. Running on sand for the first 6 miles was a little hard. However, running on the boards for the last 10 miles didn't help me pick up the pace. Got a late start (9:30AM) so it was very sunny for the entire run but the temp was cool and it was windy. Oh well, at least I finished despite the fact I wanted to bail out from Mile 13 on.

Got 18 miles at LBI on tap for next Sunday.

Lou

P.S. - Please Phillies...JUST WIN BABY!!

Rest day for me yesterday, hoping for 7 or 8 today.

I been feeling blah lately again, I guess I should just think about seeing all your shining, sunny faces in about 6 weeks:) and that will make me feel better.

DH always can tell when I am feeling a little down because I burn the candles until the cows come home! Yesterday it was "Harvest".:thumbsup2

Must go prepare a little lunch for the troops.

Hi guys!

I ran the Delaware Distance Classic 15K this morning and made a fairly decent showing. I didn't "blow the doors off of it" but I did PR, and for that I am happy. I PR'ed on the distance and on this course. It was a hot race... very steamy. Here are the stats:

Miles: 9:35
Time: 1:20:06
Pace: 8:34

I won't bore you with the splits, however, I started with 7:23, 8:05 and 8:08... then it went downhill from there. My worst split was a 9:12 though which isn't too shabby in my book. I think in my age group for men (45-49), I was about 21 minutes behind the first finisher. Those guys are fast.

All in all a great race. Cam was a great scream teamer as usual! She took a couple of pics, I'll see if she'll post them here for you guys at some point.

Have a great day!

:grouphug:

Howard

Cindy - I hope you had a great race today:banana:

Howard - Awesome job on the 15K:cheer2:

Colleen - Sorry you've got the funk:hug: I'm burning "Pumpkie Pie" myself these days wondering when I'm going to get a good run in:confused3 .

Lou - Congrats on getting the miles in even when you wanted to bail:thumbsup2 Hope you're feeling better soon!

Jodi - Glad the running Gods were with you on the 15 miles:yay: .

Dave - Nice job on talking yourself into getting out there for whatever you could eek out:cheer2: .

I am sick as well this weekend:sick: so no running whatsoever:sad1: . On a good note, in exchange for a few sexual favors, DH helped me get my treadmill out of his basement and move it over to my house:cool1: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: . I desperately need my treadmill and it is SUPER heavy so I thought it best to get it over here sooner rather than later no matter the cost;) I don't know if I have the flu but I have zero energy and all of the usual cold symptoms so other than :surfweb: I've got zero motivation.

Have a great week guys:grouphug: I'll register for Philly this week:thumbsup2
