Time for super quick post.

Watch time of 1:29:26. I assume chip time will be a bit faster. I am REALLY happy with that.

I thought it best to get it over here sooner rather than later no matter the cost;)

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

Not going to touch that one, anyone want to talk about candles?? Today I'm burning "Cinnamon Stick" and baking cookies and squares.:rotfl:

No walk today, maybe tomorrow morning or tonight if I get up enough energy.

Howard and Cindy, great job on your races today! It is a beautiful day here, wish I could get out and enjoy it.

On a good note, in exchange for a few sexual favors, DH helped me get my treadmill out of his basement and move it over to my house:cool1: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: . I desperately need my treadmill and it is SUPER heavy so I thought it best to get it over here sooner rather than later no matter the cost;)
I gotta start doing more work around the house.

Sara~ If you need anything else done, don't hesitate to ask! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :woohoo: :thumbsup2

Sara..... Nevermind. On second thought, ..... no, nevermind:lmao: .

Howard - Great job on the race. You're getting cocky (and no, that's got nothing to do with Sara). Not happy with just a PR anymore.

Cindy - Fab race for you too. Great that you are REALLY happy! That's a great time, especially considering your taper. How did Matt do?

Lou - 16 miles is a long way to be starting on the sand. That just saps the juice right out of you. WTG on getting it done.

Colleen - Sorry about the funk. I read your first post about Harvest candles and then Sara's about Pumpkin Pie (yes, that part was easy to miss ;) ) and thought "Crap, all that would do is make me hungry!" Sure enough, your next post is about baking cookies.

Sara - .... No, still 'aint gonna do it.

I got 7 decent miles in tonight. One bad thing; I think my Garmin caught Lou's laryngitis. It's lost it's beep. A little tougher to know how far I've gone when it's dark.

3 miles for me this a.m. on the TM:cool1: I'm not really sold on having to get back on the TM since it pulls my stride off and is much less desirable than running on the roads but at this point I'll take what I can get:laughing: . Hopefully I'll get a few miles in outside tonight or at least a bike ride or some yoga:thumbsup2 .

I AM still legally married so no harm done providing a little motivational incentive to get my DH to do some serious manual labor:love: . He's really the greatest and Lord knows how he's put up with me for so long:confused3 . Not too many guys would willingly help their wives move out but I did have to draw the line when he said that afterward he wanted to "sit around and talk about our feelings":scared: :lmao:

Mike - Sorry about the Garmin:headache: . Hopefully you can get it beeping again real soon:thumbsup2

Howard - popcorn:: Waiting to see some race pics from Cam!! I agree with Mike, you're crazy with your race times these days.

Lou - I saw that the Phillies DID win yesterday so I am guessing you're real happy today:yay: .

Colleen - Do the food scented candles make you hungrypopcorn:: ? I favor the balsam fir and Christmas wreath ones but your cinnamon stick sounds real good:hippie: .

Cindy - Looking forward to a race report:cheer2: . Glad you had a great day out there:woohoo: .

Jodi - Still looking for that post you promised last night:rolleyes1 .

Have a great week y'all:grouphug:

hello everyone :goodvibes

I've been lurking on this thread since the PDR-- it was great meeting some of you there. I'll introduce myself for those I didn't meet. My name is Jen and my DH and I made a New Years resolution to run the Disney 1/2 marathon in '09. We decided too late and the 1/2 was at capacity, so now we are signed up for the full :scared1: We've been trying to increase our mileage and enter a few races to keep motivated. We are debating enter the Philadelphia Marathon 1/2 as a training run (we won't be ready for a full). What do you think? Should we do it?

WOW, I disappear for a few hours & all hell breaks loose!! I guess we're a PG-13 thread now  ; do we have to post a warning sticky or something? Obviously I've got to stick around & monitor the goings-on here more diligently! We'll start with...

Sara - I'm going to sort of just, gloss over those last few posts of yours & say congrats on the 3 miles this a.m., I assume you're feeling better? Oh yeah, and I'm...happy?:confused3 that you & your treadmill are once again reunited...no matter what the cost. Oh the sacrifices we make for our sport:rolleyes1 . What'll happen when you ask for help moving major appliances?popcorn::

Colleen - What's up with the flavored candle melodrama? Snap out of it, woman!! Go outside & roll around in the leaves or something, it's all good. Those candles make me nauseated when I walk by their shops in the mall. We sell the Yankee Candle car air fresheners here @ work...do I need to send you a months supply? Did you get any walking in yesterday?

Mike - Sorry about some crappy run you had that'll never be brought up again. But glad your 7 went well last night. And thank you :worship: for leaving Sara's post alone...I don't think I could've read your response w/o peeing my pants; suffice to say it would've been one for the record-books! When's MCM? All ready?

Howard-Bear - Thinking of adding Sara to the harem? Nice job on your 15k! Quite impressed with your times, will Cam put up the photos soon?

Dave - How's that dang hip? :worship: For getting out there & doing 8 when you didn't want to go at all. I would've stayed home & ate a pint of ice cream & burned candles :rolleyes1 .

Cindy - All I can say is "wow". So impressed with your runnings lately, you are a maniac!!! You're just getting quicker & quicker. 16 miles THEN a 10-miler with a kick-a** time? WTG:thumbsup2 , you're my hero! So when do you start tapering for Philly? Surely you should've earned some 6-miler long runs by now!!;)

Lou - Great job in the sand!! How do you run in that crap? I'd still be trying to finish my 15 if I was on the beach :rotfl2: . 16 miles PLUS the sun? Not me, brotha!

Steve, & Chester - Hey missing-BOTS!! Ready for Philly?

Jen - Hi and Welcome!! Definitely sign up for the Philly 1/2 & treat it as a really cool training run!

Well I finally signed up for Philly!!:headache: , guess I shoulda done that when it was still $80, jeez:sad2: . I HAVE to go now 'cause I'm too cheap NOT to! . I ran 4 this a.m. & was a little stiff from Sat. I guess it didn't help that I just sat around the house watching football games while the cobwebs weaved themselves in the dark corners of our home yesterday:confused: . Oh well, Halloween's coming anyway! I think I'll make a trip to the torture chamber soon & get some needles stuck in me.

Well I finally signed up for Philly!!:headache: , guess I shoulda done that when it was still $80, jeez:sad2: .

:cool1:  :yay:

YEah Jodi!

Who else is left to sign up? Sara?

Yeah, that $80 marathon fee looks pretty cheap compared to the $134? entry fee. Was that really around $9 for "service fees"??

I am on the way out the door now for 8 miles....

We are debating enter the Philadelphia Marathon 1/2 as a training run (we won't be ready for a full). What do you think? Should we do it?

Jen
Go ahead and enter. It's always good to get more race experience and to have a "catered" training run as Mike calls them.

Last week was my "big mile" week in the Philly schedule - 44 miles total. I got them all in as scheduled: Tue 5, Wed 8, Thu 5, Sat 8, and 18 yesterday. Seven weeks to go and still 2 - 20 milers to slip in. The first 20 miler is scheduled for the 19th and probably won't happen. My brother in law wants me to skipper his Hobie 21 in a regatta that weekend. My catamaran racing days ended about 15 years ago. I've got to go dust off the sailing gloves and hiking harness.

Happy training to all.

Sara~ If you need anything else done, don't hesitate to ask! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :woohoo: :thumbsup2

Honey, you may be fast, but you still can't outrun a flying frying pan (or should that be a lasagna pan?) No matter how much I LOVE Sara ( :lovestruc ), there will be no "treadmill moving" if I have anythng to say about it, Mister!

So, apparently, I've been "summoned" to post the pics I took of my darling yesterday:

Yes Dear... :confused3 :rolleyes1 :flower3:

I ran some tonight after work and I thought I'd share. It went pretty well, I felt good despite having run 9.3 yesterday during the Delaware Distance Classic (referenced in the post above).

Tonight:

Miles: 6.0
Time: 50:07
Pace: 8:21

Splits: 8:37, 8:29, 8:19, 8:11, 8:11, and 8:20.

Mike~ I am not getting cocky, I actually think I have been that way for a while now... since 1963 in fact. :lmao: :rotfl2:

Sara~ We can't wait to see you!!

Hi to all of you - Dave, Chester, Jodi, Cindy, Jen, Lou, Colleen, etc. :wave2:

Have a great evening!

:grouphug:

Howard

Cam - Thanks for posting the pics and giving Howard a load of crap:rotfl: :thumbsup2 I can't wait to see you next month:hug: Congrats on the wedding dress being way too big, BTW:banana: :yay:

Howard - Great race pics and nice job on the 6 "recovery" miles!! Do you have a goal time in mind for Philly that you want to sharepopcorn:: ?

Chester - Congrats on getting the 44 miles in:cheer2: !! Have a blast at the regatta this weekend:)

Jen - Thanks for joining us and please don't be scared off by the sophomoric banter on this thread:rotfl2: :confused3 . We've all met IRL so at times we take a few liberties:rolleyes1 . Definitely sign up for the 1/2 and have a great time:yay: .

Jodi - How are you feeling todaypopcorn:: ? Did you make an appt for the acupuncturist? BTW, you seem like you'd be all about the candle burning and aromatherapy:hippie: This was a PG-13 thread WAY before I mentioned anything about negotiations with my husband:laughing: .

Cindy - Anxiously waiting a race report but at peace with it since you're totally insane with the frenetic pace:worship: . I do hope you're taking it easy and work is quiet for you.

Colleen, Mike, Lou & Steve - :wave2:

5 miles for me on the TM this morning:yay: . I will sign up this week:rolleyes1

Jen - -It would be so great to see you and DH at Philadelphia. I'll be there scream-teaming. And, in case you haven't read the whole thread yet, there is a gathering at our house the night before for lasagna (carb loading). At some point, we'll get together a list of who is coming and we'll fnalize details.

In the meantime, stick around here. This crew is so much fun! And very supportive!

Wow, lots of activity on the thread.

Cam - Love the pics. The DE run was definitely for serious runners...barely anyone on that course. Count me in for the lasagna (I guess it's official right?).

Jen - You and DH should sign up for the 1/2. It's a great course and you should have better (cooler) weather, although it rained last year.

Hey everybody else!!!

Got in 3 easy miles today. I'm going to take it kind of easy this week with the LBI 18-miler looming on Sunday. Hopefully we don't get a repeat of the killer (hot) weather we had last year because LBI doesn't start until 10:30AM. Thank God the Eagles start at 4PM.

Spent the day working in Philly yesterday and ran into a number of Philly celebrities during the day. In a 10 minute span I road the elevator with Governor Rendell. We talked about the Eagles for our entire 30-second ride (for those not familiar with The Guv, he co-hosts an Eagles post game show every week). As I walked outside of the building I saw a wedding party taking pictures on Broad St. The groom was Eagles tight end Brent Celek and one of the groomsmen was linebacker Stewart Bradley. Then Mayor Nutter walks past me (he apparently conducted the ceremony).

Lou

Hey Expensive-Philly-Bots

Still trying to get over the cost of that one :headache: .

Sara - I know, you'd think I'd be all into that candle-crap & meditating :rotfl: , but I don't have the patience. I have a hard enough time being inside my own mind for the duration of a marathon! Nice job on the 5! ok, I guess the thread's rated R now:thumbsup2 .

Candleen - How'd that 8 miler go? Feeling any less funky?

Cam - Love the pics & way to keep Huggy in line!:rotfl2: Count me in on the lasagna thing!:dance3:

HuggyHo - RU you gonna let your woman talk to you like that?

CindyBoo - Don't worry about that race report. Keep running & keep eating, then maybe I can keep up with you for Philly. And yes, I'll run in silence with you. Dave, will you talk/sing/ramble on to us?

Dave - Stop all that working nonsense! How's the hip?

Chester - TWO 20 mile runs...that's funny. Have fun this weekend Captain Sparrow!

Mike - Hello.

Lou - I didn't know a single Philly celebrity you referred to; I'm so sheltered! Presently doing the cold-weather-dance for you for Sunday. Will you reciprocate & do the no-rain-dance for my son's school fundraiser @ the Hartford Marathon this Sat.?

Steve-of-Troy - How's the Achilles?

Think I'll do a few mile slog w/ Spencer this afternoon, but that's it. I'm going to see the pin guy tomorrow a.m. @ 10. YIKES!

DH always can tell when I am feeling a little down because I burn the candles until the cows come home! Yesterday it was "Harvest".:thumbsup2

Hmm, I totally do the same thing, except its always the food scented ones - gingerbread or vanilla. I hope you are feeling better.

Howard – congrats on another PR!

Cam – thanks for the pics!

Sara – Well, at least you have your treadmill!

Mike – Hope your Garmin gets its beep back. Planning on a long run this weekend?

Jbucci – I say go for the Philly half. I think getting another race under your belt is a good idea as you prepare for your first marathon.

Jodi – I’m glad you are definitely in for Philly. Maybe we can run together – although I’m sure I won’t be as good of company as Dave was because I’m pretty sure I won’t be talking.

Chester – Congrats on getting your big mile week done. I can’t believe how quickly Philly is approaching.

Lou – Good luck on the LBI!

Now that I've responded to everyone, I really don't have time to write a race report. Work is just terrible lately. I promise (for real) to post a race report soon.

Ran 12 this morning. I should have worn gloves - my hands were freezing the entire time. I also forgot that running in the cold makes my knees hurt more (or maybe its just those extra pounds that I really need to loose:laughing: ).

This is my big 55 mile week complete with a 20 scheduled for Sunday:scared1:

This is my big 55 mile week complete with a 20 scheduled for Sunday:scared1:
:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 How can you throw out having to lose a few lbs when you're running 50+ mile weeks?! That makes NO sense to me:laughing: . Sorry work is biting and I guess we won't pester you for a race report:hug: Pictures of soldiers in lieu of a race report would work:thumbsup2

Hey Everyone: Just wanted to say hi :wave2:. I'm really busy at work, and haven't had much time to post, but I've been lurking and enjoying the treadmill moving discussion. :lmao:

Jen- Welcome! Definitely sign up for the half. The more the merrier.
