Dave--Hugs going out to you!
It has been a rough fall for you. I hope your LR today is able to clear your mind a little

Drum roll please.........................average pace was 9:46! Not bad for a turtle, but I'll have you know there were many 10min+ plus miles toward the end. It was really feelin' sucky.

Dave and JodiThe leg is not good and I am kind of scared. It is definitely some kind of overuse thing that needs RICE. Any advice for the last 3 weeks besides telling me I really shouldn't be running this?
Hi Jodi- I did hear about the Chicago Marathon. Actually, you would have finished - because you had to have reached the halfway point by 4 hours. They closed the 2nd half of the course. I feel badly for the man that died and his family. How awful. The heat's been crazy this year. Of the marathon's I've paid attention to this year, a lot of them have had record heat: Disney (of course), the Disneyland half marathon was over 100 degrees, Grandma's Marathon (that Sara ran in), and now Chicago. Even the Flying Pig Marathon that I ran the 1/2M at was pretty warm and a runner died on the full marathon course. Oooh, I hope it's not that hot for us at the MCM.WOW, did you all hear about the tragedy at the Chicago Marthon yesterday? What an awful story, a 35 y/o dead, I'm eager to see if he had a prior history of some kind or if heat played a role. They canceled the marathon after 4 hours...that means I wouldn't have finished. While I think it was the right thing for them to do, I wonder how I would feel if I flew all the way out there & was told I couldn't finish. I probably would've stopped longed b4 that, but the heat doesn't effect everybody the same, some people can deal with it. That poor man's family.
More later.
I'm so happy she nixed the surgery idea.
