. If you want any iPod tune suggestions, there is a WISH thread for marathon music. If I told you my playlist you might get the wrong impression of me
.Sara -Phew, glad to know you'll be there.Yes, Jodi, don't worry, Sara will be there! I have confidence that a nice, relaxing, free-dining jaunt down to Disney will revitalize anyone!![]()
Chester, so cool about your heart-heart monitoring. After my tempo run this morning, DH was trying to convince me to wear his heart rate monitor so I will know what my optimal pace should be. I have tried it before but it chafes so badly. I used body glide but it still pains me.
Sara, be careful this weekend. I have told myself that it is OK to walk periodically during my 18, I just want to get the steps in.
Jodi, yes I will be getting a 20 miler in. Who knows when?![]()
Colleen - Oranges, bananas and gels? Heck, I was going to try for some stir fry, pizza, maybe a frozen beverage or two!Mike, you are thinking about running with us. That would be great. You can run ahead to the water stops and have oranges, bananas, and gels waiting for us when we get there! You are welcome to join our merry band, but I am sure you will be get antsy and want to take off, you are so speedy.

I've tried to slow it down for a more comfortable LR in the past and my knees hurt and quads ached and had all sorts of discomfort. That's why most of my runs are pretty much at race pace.
By the way, will there be beer at the finish line? MelR and I actually drank the beer offered about mile 22 at Disney last year.
We had been out there so long at that point and it was approaching 85 degrees, so we just said, what the heck?
He runs about a 3:30 marathon, not really a chatterbox (well, not at all), and has completely given up running with me. He too complains of sore knees and quads after running my 9:30 pace. He says he has to adjust his stride so much that it completely throws him off. I guess I am telling you this, so you do what is best for you during the marathon, OK, I guess I don't need to tell you that, I am sure your legs will let you know what you need.
You must wait for us at the finish!
. Good luck on your b2b LR's this weekend.
. I was inspired to run even on 5 hours of sleep. However, my knee wasn't so inspired and it is a bit upset with me. I am up in the air as to which day or how many miles I am going out for this weekend. I will get something in for sure
.
!!
, sounds like your ipod list may be a little, uh, distracting? I can't wait to see you when that marine places a medal around your neck
(that's if I can keep up). Glad you had fun @ Daughtry last night...don't run too much this weekend.
).
. He's so bad w/ directions, he'll probably get lost if he gets up after me & tries to sit out on the course to spot me, oh jeez. I'm wondering if the Silent Drill Team is going to be @ the Dining In thing I got tickets for, that's the only reason why I'm going to this dopey event. I suppose I should make a phone call today & find out, huh?
. I also don't speak when I run and I just get
when it starts to hurt. I have run a 1/2 with DH and not spoken a word the entire time
. We'll all just run in silence
. My mind will be other places entirely
. In Lake Placid last weekend when I was struggling I was thinking about how I am afraid I will be mean to y'all when I get frustrated during MCM. I have never been to MCM. Check out the website first. Logistics will most likely be a nightmare.
Sara - That's soooo funny, I'm afraid my true colors will show & ya'll see the heinous wench that my family knows me for. Seriously, I get so irritable those last few miles, I feel like punching people who are yelling out "just 3 more miles, you can do it". Shut up already, can't you see that I'm on the verge of a nervous breakdown???? Then my cell phone rings & it's my dopey husband, "Hey honey, where are you? How do you feel? Blah blah blah?" ARGHHHHH!!
We'll all just run in silence.
I don't get mad, I just walk.
I have never been one to over-exert myself.
If we are anywhere close to finishing under 4:30, you two are going to have to light a fire under my behind to get me out of my comfort zone. (In need of a slashing whip smiley.)

Any suggestions? I always hoped I could get 2-20's in this training, but it just isn't going to happen.
. WTG on the LR. I am resting today as my knee is still bad. I think it's runners knee since it hurts all of the time. I will go out tomorrow but I can't say for how many miles now. I am watching Hannibal Rising with DH as I type and staying off the legs. My training plan will only get me one 20 miler due to my vacation. I will go as far as my knee will allow tomorrow and then will have to wing it until after I'm back from vacation and decide what to do. 15, 10, 20 looks like a good plan for you
, so go REAL EASY tomorrow, fun loops around the house so you can call it quits if you have to.

Let's say your running your race, monitoring your heart rate and all of a sudden you're surrounded by a bevy(sp?) of running beauties. How did Sara put it? Admiring the human form? Well, do you have to slow down due to the resulting increase in HR?![]()
Ah, not going to touch that one.
over 6 feet tall... funny story, DH checked and if I finish with a 4:30 or better I could finish in the top 10 of my Athena division. (according to last years results).
