Can someone give me an area around Philadelphia that would be close to the zoo where a group of mom's and their babies could stay for a reunion? We don't want to stay in the city or close to the airport because the hotels cost more. We were thinking more like the suburbs.

Thanks!

Crowne Plaza Philadelphia West on City Line Ave maybe. I believe it's about 7 minutes door to door, from the zoo, about two minutes from Route 76. It's on a major street, surrounded by restaurants and businesses, as well as a couple of news stations and a hospital (so it's not such a "neighborhood" like hotel).

Also, the Hilton Inn at Penn, on the University of Penn's campus.

And there are hotels at the airport that are cheaper than these two, so i'm not sure if you just prefer a suburban setting, or think that it would just be cheaper.

There are places right around the King of Prussia mall that would put you 30 min away but give you plenty of things to do. That mall is amazing, I don't know what you mean by babies (infants, toddlers, wide range) but the mall has wonderful restaurants including Dave & Busters.

For specific hotels check out tripadvisor, the reviews are always dead on accurate and I love the photo feature where other travelers can post.

Conshohocken would not be far. You could hop right on Rt 76 to to the zoo and then drive to King Of Prussia for the mall.

Plymouth Meeting is another good choice, they have built that are up a lot and have a Dave and Busters and another mall with lots of chain resturants and movie theater.

Have fun.

thanks everyone for the suggestions!

You don't want to be right near the zoo. That is a pretty urban area. You will have to drive to get to the zoo. Don't stay right near the zoo. It is a very urban, very city area.

Theres tons of hotels in Center City and some on the waterfront and you would just drive.

D&B is at Plymouth Mtg, not KOP :goodvibes KOP is a nice mall to walk around w/ kiddos though, during afternoons on weekdays it's like stroller haven. WHy don't you want to stay in the city? It's a beautiful city, and it's more "upper class" than I've ever seen it!
