Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a pharmacy close to Disney. We will need to get a prescription (something that will run out while we are down there and is only given a month at a time). Thanks! :)

I sent you a detailed post to your Private messages, I see you are new here to the DIS, Welcome!
Just in case you don't know, look up to your right hand side and see the little yellow box, yours may be a different color but it will say welcome Cmemories
there underneath will say Private Messages click that and you will be taken so you can read my post.

You might not be able to PM back just yet as you might not have enough posts, I think you have to have 11 so go post your heart out. :)

I will check back here and see if you have gotten it. :)

Thank you Valerie! I sent you a message to your email address. Thanks for all of your help. Three cheers for you!:cheer2:

How long are you going to be in WDW? Most pharmacy plans allow you to refill it at 21 days or 3 weeks after the last fill. I've also paid for several prescriptions out of pocket if I can get it generic because of the refill issue. Had it a few times when I took 2 and 3 week trips. Good deal if you get it filled at Target or Walmart since they charge $4.00 flat fee for all generic fills.

Not sure if anyone else does it. One of the benefits of us using Walgreens is this reason. I can get my prescription filled at any Walgreens pharmacy. A lot of places restrict you on where you can get refills.

Hope it works out for you. Can you call your doctor and have them increase it to a 60 day refill? About 1/2 of mine are 90 day refills and the other half will be that way shortly.

Having worked in pharmacy benefits (both processing online claims and checking benefits), most plans allow for an early refill due to a vacation. Let the pharmacy where you normally fill the rx process the online claim for a denial, and then tell them they need to call and request the indurance to give an early refill override for a vacation supply. Honestly the only time I ever had a problem was with a patient with Medicaid. Most other insurances have no problems with it. Also depending on the situation as another poster said you can refill after 75% of the meds (about 21-23 days depending on the plan) have been used by date it was last processed. What I always do when I do retail 30 day supplies is fill as soon as I can at the 21-22 day mark. I eventually get a nice little stockpile on hand, so I don't have to worry about needing to fill on vacation.

I sent you some info privately :)

But I also wanted to post this for others that might have a interest or need.

I also did a search and this is what I found:

If you forgot your prescriptions at home, the nearest drug stores are the Walgreens in Lake Buena Vista (407-238-0600) and Turners Drug (407-828-8125). Either will phone your home pharmacy and/or physician and get you a refill until you get home.

For a small fee (about $10) Turners will also deliver your medication to any Disney or non-Disney Orlando area hotel.

Some tourists have also had good luck phoning their pharmacy at home, and asking that a refill be FedExd to them, with overnight delivery. This option can be expensive the minimum FedEx charge is about $30 but if you forgot your heart medication, its worth it.

I hope this is helpful to you. :)

If I can help please feel free to contact me. :)
