Going back to DLP this Xmas and were going with other people for a change so Mrs stonfiesta will be able to go on some fast rides and things that i usually bottle.........one i do bottle is phantom manor......can anyone give me the gist of this ride..........any drops like pirates? and anything fast or spins, and big motions? spiders anywhere? (fake obviously......i still dont like em!)

cheers for any help.

You'll be fine on it, I'm a coward :) . We did on our last day with 9 yo DS. The car is turned once or twice but there are no drops our sudden stuff. They have to stop the ride for me so I can get on from my wheelchair, so I don't get to to the pre ride bit so I can't tell you about that. Enjoy!

It's really slow too, so you will be fine.
More of a ride where you just look at the scenes etc.

I don't remember anything jumping out either (well maybe the cast members sometimes when you are getting on/off the ride but they only do it every now and then).

You will be ok - go for it.

Phantom Manor is one of my 5 year old daughters favourite rides. I also enjoyed it very much, even after doing it about 15 times during our 4 day stay.

It is not a fast ride and the spookiest bit is the pre-ride bit. (I wont say too much though as I don't want to spoil it.) Once you are on the ride it is really just a very very good ghost train. The special effects in some parts are amazing. Keep an eye out for the singing heads in the cemetery they are very funny and look closely in the mirror at the end of the ride.

Give it a go I am sure that you will like it.

Forgot to mention about the spiders, there are probably are some but I do not remember being spooked by spiders during the ride. If there were some there is so much more going on to look at you can just focus on some thing else. (I have a phobia od spiders)

I love going on PM especially when its dusk outside - it makes it darker inside and spookier. Ohhhh, I'll be on it on saturday :goodvibes
But it is highly recommended!

noooooooo, thats put me off it!!!! i Cant handle even knowing im in a building where there is one....fake or not!! nooooooooooo!

I don't remember any spiders, and if there are any it's not the major focus of the ride, as cstokell said! It's meant to be entertaining more than anything. As someone else said, the "scariest" bit is the pre-show, and even that isn't really that scary! Honestly you'll be fine, you'll wonder what all the fuss was about afterwards!

You will definitely regret it if you don't go on it, it's one of my joint favourite rides. :goodvibes

Been on it also around 15 or so times and certainly never noticed a spider. And as others have said there is way too much to look at and take in that i'm sure will not notice the presence or lack of anything even remotely spidery!

To not go on it would be a real shame as it is certainly in my top 5 fav attractions in DLRP.

no spiders,no drops ,a bit scary in a disney kind of way my DD went on it when she was 4 and the end when you look in the mirror is really funny ,I find the witch on the snow white ride WAY MORE SCARY !!!!!! (is this just me )

Just for you I will ride it lots of times to see if there are any spiders ( for general research you understand, its a very important issue!!!

No spiders in Phantom Manor, but be aware that there are a few spiders in the Haunted Mansion at WDW - just in case you go breezing on to that once you've happily done Phantom Manor!!! :teeth:

PM is a great ride - probably my favourite!! :thumbsup2

My DS did PM on his 5th Birthday and thought it was so cool, he did Snow White 6 months later and thought that was scary.

It's a great ride and I'm a number 1 wimp, I positively hate ghost trains in this country.

There is so much to take in, the details are incredible, we're now constantly looking for any new details - you haven't got time to think about being scared. :)

i would just like to say that the witch in snow whiote scares the life out of me, i have to close my eyes!!!!! :rolleyes1
