I know alot of us have animals and thought it would be neat if we told the names of our animals & how they got their name.

The pictures on the Signature are of our daughter, Furface. I was reading Dean Koontz's "The Watchers" when I got her and the name just kind of stuck on her. I tried to give her a frilly foo foo name, but none of them fit her personality.

We also had a chinchillia that was named Flash & believe me - he was super fast. Would take about 45 minutes to catch him if he got out in the living room.

So - what is your fur baby's name????

Our first dog, a Black Lab, was Zack, because I loved the name and DH didn't, so I knew, unfortunately, I'd never have a child named Zack.

Our current dog, a German Shepherd, is Simon. We named him after a cute little yellow lab puppy we met one day in Newport, RI...I fell in love with the puppy and the name.

We have Maximus the cat named after the Gladiator movies.

Samantha the cat was named that because when we had our DS, if he was a girl he was supposed to be Samantha. DH and I agreed on that until after he was born. DH then decides to tell me "I'm glad he's a boy because I really didn't like that name!" So out of spite, I named the cat Samantha.

Fishy and Froggy....well....that's what we get for letting a 4 year old name the pets!

Dr. Boskonovich. Bosko or Bos or Dr. B for short. Usually call her Bosko, though.

We named her after the character of the same name in the Playstation game Tekken (sp?). We figured it sounded better than "Drunk Kitty." ;)

Our cats are Kitty and Baby. :) Kitty started out being Elizabeth, but she lost that name pretty early on and then became Miss Kitty, now she is just Kitty. Baby is like a baby so she's Baby.

We obviously lacked some creativity where our cats names were concerned. :p

My dog is Auggie and that is the name she had when I got her from the humane society.

My Kelly that I recently lost was named after one of my favorite singers, Robert Kelly Thomas.

My new kitten is named Galaxy. My friend Gretchen suggested Galaxy. It also has a musical connection.

Our Golden Retriever is names Jordan after who else but Michael. My DD was a basketball fan and Michael Jordan was her favorite player and since it was her puppy, she got to chose the name.

My Shih Tzu is Harley. We had a hard time finding a name, because I only liked the GIRLY names! We wanted something strong (because he's SO tiny), that sounded good with our last name.

I also heard it's easier for pets to recognize their name if it ends with an "e" sound, so we tried to do something he'd easily recognize.

i really wanted a cool name with a cool meaning but DH shot them all down. Oh well. Harley is cute, and will soon be sporting Harley Davidson collars and leashes, and if i can find one, a leather jacket =)

My two Siamese babies are Barnum & Bailey because life is a 3-ring circus with them around!

Well,

Zelda....after the Nintendo games...Legend of Zelda...Her full name is Princess Zelda Alexia. Alexia is also from a video game(Resident Evil series).

Austin....His full name is Austin "Stone Cold" VanDam...after my hubbys 2 fav wrestlers...

Wario.....Yet another video game...He was the fattest puppy, and he was the only boy dog, and he was the evil brother to his sisters...so my niece said call him Wario, Mario's evil brother...and it stuck :)

Miracle....She got the name as she was born almost 3 days after the rest of the litter and it was a Miracle that she survived the night with an inexperienced mom taking care of her. DH found her in the morning, very close to death...but she pulled through. Hence the name...

Baby Kat....well for the longest time when he was a kitten, we called him THE baby cat.....well it stuck....Baby Kat, or just Kat

Orange....well he is a fat orange cat

Lucius....After the Harry Potter character....He has an evil look about him....so that is what we chose. He was a shelter rescue cat

Poly's actual name is "Polynesian", named after the resort

BoBo's first owner had named him something else which starts with "Bo" (she was an exotic dancer, and I'll let you use your imagination what the name was) I didn't want to keep the name, so I shortened it to something which sounded close.

Pebbles was named by a friend of mine, I'm not sure why she chose the name.

Scout was named after Scout Finch, from "to Kill a Mockingbird"

Dora was named after the town "Lake Dora" near Orlando.

Belle, Scooter, and Tandy came with their names (they as well as all of the others were rescues).

Anne

Well my baby's name is LuvJoy, Luvvy for short.

We got her name when we saw a street sign in ft walton called LuvJoy, and started laughing about how we could call a new puppy Luvvy!

Well 2 weeks later we find a little bundle of Joy at the Vet and guess what we name her!;)

I like having an unusual name for her.

We have always had pets with Disney names, so we feel the need to stick with that.

Our cat is Jessie after Jessie in toy story. She is full of energy just like the character she is named after! She also has some red hair so it was appropriate

Our new Puppy is Lilo. We were going to get a boy and call it Stitch since he is my favorite, but since we got a girl we decided that Lilo was the next best thing!

Lisa

Chocolate lab named Rainy Day, because it was one when we had her tags engraved.

Nicholas, our almost 16 year old sweetheart cat, is named after St. Nicholas because I got him near Christmas.

Kadek Kacing is our almost 1 year old terror kitten so named because it means Second Cat in Balinese. He is a Balinese like Nicholas.

Luger, our German Shepherd, was named by his breeder and we got him when he was 9 months old. We tried other names but Luger just sort of stuck. And yes, he was named after the gun :( . His nickname is Luger McDuger.

Monty is our python. 'nuf said.

Riley is our Dumeril's Boa. She was supposed to be Riley Elizabeth, but the vet thinks she is a he so he is just Riley now. Riley came from the RIL end of Dumeril's.

That's all for now!

I have a cat named Miracle! Actually Maximillian Miracle...

I wanted Miracle and Michael wanted Max so we compromised. His whole life has been a miracle and he truly deserves the name.

Xena: After the Warrior Princess.

Aaliyah: After the fallen pop singer... :( She's beautiful and feminine and has loooong black hair. We got her the week after Aaliyah died.

Meeko: After the raccoon character on Pocahontas. He has a raccoon mask and flits around like Meeko, a perfect name for him!

My world and welcome to it....

My cats name is Sasha. I tried and tried but couldn't pick one. Finally I had had her for almost two weeks and decided that I simply HAD to pick one. I chose Sasha because I like the sound of it though she has so many nicknames, its a wonder she can remember her original lol.

My first cats name was Tango. When she was a baby, she was playing with a string we were dangling above her. She looked like she was dancing and kept getting tangled in the string. I suggested Tangle. My mom suggested Tango and Tango was the one that stuck. It works since she was kind of dancing on her hind legs at the time.

My stepdad has two cats.

The male is named Willy. It's my stepdad's middle name (william) and my mom's favorite rose (Sweet William).

The female is Shy because.. she's shy lol.

My sister has a dog named Brooklyn. No clue as to why. I think my brother in law named her.

She also has two cats named Chester and Dexter. She just thought those names sounded cool lol.

Our dog, Bernie, came with that name from the rescue group we adopted him from. They named him that since he is part St. Bernard.

We have a new cat that found us - just showed up on our back porch last March, starving. We have so many other cats, he was the "new cat". So the name stuck - Nukat.

The best one we had was our very first cat when we got married. DH and I had each seen this kitten lying in the road after being hit by a car, so we assumed he was dead. The next day we heard a very tiny meow from under my car and it was the same kitten we had seen in the road. We coaxed him out, kept him and named him Lazarus, since he had come back from the dead.

Our first son decided on our cat's name. Grant you he was 2 at the time but we said he could choose, so our cat's name is Mrs. Tiki Pupu Cheeks Williams!:teeth: We call her Tiki.

Kitty #1 is "Pixie", as in Pixie Dust. Kitty #2 is "Georgie", because I liked how the two names went together. :p
