Pete's Silly Sideshow and Storybook Circus

I'm going to take the wild and crazy step of waiting until I get down there and see it for myself before I pass judgment. I have seen Dumbo in its now location, and thought the theme was off to a good start. I am anxious to see how the rest looks.

I haven't seen it in person, but from the pictures I think I kinda like it, I'll make up my mind once I get to see it.

Wow, josh went to the trouble of going to memegenerator to be a jerk, classy. :duck: It's just like being on reddit... :offtopic:

I love reddit! Best place on the net for a good debate. Also love the whole upvote/downvote thing.

Personally, I thought the meme was funny. :thumbsup2 And spot on!

Not sure how posting that constitutes being a jerk. Simply illustrating a point that he was trying to make (quite well, I thought).

The OP is certainly entitled to her opinion, but Toon Town is dead. It has been replaced. And looking at a few photos just won't give you a true 'feel' for a place- you need to be immersed in it first. Everyone has their own preferences and ideas of what feels magical or exciting. Some will love this new area, others will dislike it and still others will be "meh". But no one will know for sure until they actually see it in person. Prejudging it does Storybook Circus and the person doing the judging a disservice.

We love it! It's a great, fun area! The new character meet area opened while we were there last week and we got to do it twice. Daisy Fortuna was amazing! SO fun and cute. And Minnie Magnifique's costume is just breathtaking! The headpiece alone is amazing. We had a great time visiting this new area. The Dumbo queue and ride were great. The Big Top Souvenir shop was big and fun. To each his own! :goodvibes:goodvibespixiedust:

I won't speak to Toontown, since I have few memories from my childhood and my toddler was too young to enjoy anything beyond clinging to Mommy just before the demolition.

But I will say that having an interactive play area while waiting to ride Dumbo is an excellent idea. So too is having an additional Dumbo. Wait times appear to already be half as before.

Adjusting the theme to Goofy's roller-coaster might only bother a person who was/is in the Air Force or lives on a farm.

And the 'open feeling' that comes from having Beast Castle looking so far away will deal a blow to the claustrophobia that some people experienced when walking from one end of Fantasyland to the other.

But seriously folks, complaining before you've actually been there is pretentious. Give the plants and trees a chance to grow and allow the Imagineers a chance to add those finishing touches that might take a few years to complete.

Lastly, if you don't think the new Fantasyland looks 'Disney' enough for you, how do you feel about Tomorrowland? I do remember the before/after Space Mountain. In my opinion, Space Mountain is more EPCOT than Magic Kingdom, but I enjoy it none the less.

Saw it, loved it.... even picked up Oswald ears and DD and I got free embroidered names on 'em!

These are already in the parks??? Oh, my DH is going to be THRILLED! He's a big Oswald fan. I tried to get him a pair of the limited edition ones on e-bay, but I just couldn't justify what people were charging.

Same here! DS is going to be so excited!

I can't wait to see it, I think it looks Disney-ish, as long as there are no clowns! They freak me out!

I can't wait to see the new Storybook Circus area. Even though my kids are way past the Dumbo riding stage, you can be sure I'll be dragging them into the interactive circus tent just to check it out.

For the record, I like Dinoland in AK too. I like when Disney tries different styles.

Hehe. Agreed! :clown: (sorry...that was mean) :)

Dumbo has never really been one of my all-time favorites, I've never really been a big fan of the "circus-theme"...ever, but now I'm really excited to see it! I guess I can't say that I like it or not until we see it tomorrow! :joker:

I wouldn't put Storybook Circus is in the same category as Dinoland, but given the choice I wish they would have kept Toontown, spruced it up and added some things, but kept it. I thought it was great that they had Mickey and Minnie's house and we always went through them...the kids always loved seeing where Mickey and Minnie lived. It was a small area and it did need something else though. I like the Circus theme, it does go very well with Dumbo, I'm still just sad they had to take out Toontown for it.

~LOL, this is just too funny! :rotfl:

~Anyway, I followed your best park days and suggestions for August and we had a fabulous trip! I just love EasyWDW and truly appreciate all of your hard work! :goodvibes:

Just saw all the characters in their tent for the first time. By FAR the best themed, cutest backdrop for a meet in the MK. The fairies are the only thing that comes close.

And Dumbo at night is 100 times more beautiful at night than the old location.

We just got back and even though we no longer have young kids, we took a look around storybook circus.

We (husband and I) thought it was great especially for those with young kids. The new setup for the dumbo rides is very well done. There is an indoor play area to wait for the ride, they give you a buzzer similar to the kid you get a restaurants.

We ere also lucky enough to see Donald, Goofy, Minnie and Daisy in their new costumes and location in Pete's sideshow - very nice set up for meet & greets.

The circus tent shop was also very cute.

I did like Toontown, though I always thought that Disneyland's Toontown was so much better than MK's.

I think Storybook circus is a lovely addition along with the rest of the new additions to Fantasyland.
