Pete addressing all the hate on the podcast

Completely get where you're coming from, you get back what you put in, if you go in thinking you'll have a miserable time you probably will

I agree with this in general but for some of us its not as easy to just whistle zip-a-dee-do-dah in the face of declining quality when you’re paying $1000 per night

And some of y'all want to lump everyone with a opposing opinion together without acknowledging that they have compelling reasons for their stance.

Yep. Because usually it’s the same, old, tired complaints.

Cheer up. Life’s too short! You’re welcome.

Some of us will never be able to afford $1000 per night. $1000 is my budget for 5 nights off site at Disneyland!

i'm not saying to not post your opinion, just breeze past the ones that are insulting, everyone should air out their grievances, it's therapeutic haha

I hear you but the exact number doesn’t matter. WDW resort costs have increased dramatically since COVID so in comparison today’s cost will feel ultra-premium and expectations will be higher. Charge more and offer less is a recipe for discontent.

Complaints with merit. You just don't agree with them.

Take a chill pill and rewatch Disney's live stream of HarmonioUS.

Merit?
It’s the same song on repeat.

Prices are up? Cry.
Quality is down? Cry.
No entertainment? Cry
No free parking? Cry.
Paid fast pass? Cry.
No Magic Express? Cry.
No meal plan? Cry.
No free dining promo? Cry.

Ugh, Disney made changes? Cry.

Thanks!

Ok just making sure because as a fan community we have the highest affection and love for Disney.

So if people are complaining about the fireworks being substandard maybe Disney will adjust it to address concerns. Disney of old would take guests feedback into consideration, and maybe adjust their show based on feedbacks.

I’m not sure it’s out the realm to state that the offerings are disappointing. Enchantment fireworks ARE a disappointment there is no emotional pull like the others have had. Also I don’t remember this level of pushback from the Disney community wheb HEA debuted…the Moana segment was too long maybe?

I guess the never ending complaining about trash cans, bathrooms, and parking garages are not toxic.

So, for all of the folks who are disappointed in the new fireworks, castle projection shows, water cannons on octopus arms etc., when's your next trip to WDW?

For the first time since 1998, I don't have a trip planned. Last visit was 2019 and did yearly trips prior to that.

We might go back again in 2023, but not before Tron coaster opens. I have no desire to visit WDW with the way things are currently.

We have one more trip booked because we began renting points for a split stay before a lot of this recent news came out. We love Disney, I would gladly continue spending money, and would understand price hikes too, but the experience just isn't there anymore.

I am literally planning my next trip to UO after going to WDW exclusively for many years. It's great if some of you feel the value is still there, all the power to you, but don't fool yourselves into believing that all of us are just bark and no bite. Obviously, our bites are like an ants on a giant though lol...

That being said I still love WDW and will continue to stay up to date on whats going on and new rides etc. I'm certainly not saying I'll NEVER go again. We'll see how things progress.

Once universal opens Nintendo land here with the Pokémon expansion they just announced that’s a legitimate game changer.

I think Pokemon is a way bigger deal than Harry Potter because it's the highest grossing franchise of all time and only started in 1996. However just looking at this list it's amazing how many of the top franchises Disney owns: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_media_franchises

I definitely think it's going to drive competition. It's still years and years away but I would think/hope Disney is coming up with some big plans of their own to counter it. I personally support a Theme Park War lol.

I’m with you, bring on the arms race. I still just see universal as a distant second

also when you add up all that Disney owns on that list, it’s not even close, I also don’t understand why if it’s a Disney owned franchise, they aren’t all added ip in the first place. Is Disney so big that they have to break them up

Disney has one of the most change-averse fans of any community out there.
I sincerely doubt it. All groups resist change. All groups think they're unique. The same fluctuations in human behavior exist here as they do in professional groups, fandoms of other properties, and sports teams. Nothing new under the sun ...
