Pet photos and chat

If you want to eliminate glowing eyes from your pictures, try not to use a flash.

If you take pictures indoors, try to get in a spot where there's a lot of natural light, like by a doorway or window.

Better yet, take the pictures outdoors, ideally when it's overcast or at sunset for great lighting that's not too harsh.

Keep the camera really still, and try to snap when your pet is still as well.

Pets are so much fun to photograph, and best is that they never complain or eye roll when you have to re-shoot or don't do a good job.

Gotta love em. :dog: :cat:

Thanks pea!

You're welcome!

I keep one handy made out of an old plastic film container. I've seen a tissue recommended also.

This is our 14-year-old cocker spaniel, Daisy Belle.

Zoe, our 4-year-old lab. This isn't the best picture, but since she's scared of the camera, we take what we can get. :rotfl:

JM, this is so precious! Look at that determined look on her little face and how hard she's pressed herself into the bag. You're right, she's not letting daddy go ANYWHERE :).
Bubblegum is gorgeous too, is he a boxer? Such a lovely brindle coat....

Yes, Bubblegum is a Boxer. Tiger Stripped. I lot of people think she is a Pit Bull at first and are afraid of her, which I don't mind. Anytime a stranger rings the doorbell, she rushes to the door and so loud I find the person out in the driveway ready to take off if she gets out. And before anyone gets mad at me, I do not think Pit Bulls are bad, I know it is the owners that make certain breeds that way.

Oh I'm so sorry about Mozart! Look at that sweet little guy. And what an adorable picture, he looks like he's in complete dog Nirvana with his pillow and his pacifier.
My Amber likes to suck on her stuffed toys, too. I've never met another dog that does that....

I haven't seen too many dogs that have pacifier's either. I watched one program on Animal Planet about Great Danes and this one Great Dane was carrying her pacifier around her. So cute to see such a big dog do that. Oh, we won't mention what Mozart would do to that pillow, or any pillow he found.:rotfl:

And I was just wondering, I had thought about starting a Pet Owners thread where us humans could share stories about our Furrbabies or whatever pet we have. But maybe the OP would like to make this one. Everyone sure is enjoying the pics, why not some stories with them.

I am all for that! Bumping for pics and maybe stories...
We have had T-storms...all morning and night. My 2 Shelties have been barking with every thunder clap and lightning strike! Ugh! I love this breed, but the barking is annoying. All of their other good qualities make up for it. DD, 7, taught our puppy to jump through a hula hoop (a good 3 feet in the air). It took about 10 minutes for him to get it. She now wants him to beg while sitting on a stool. Can you tell she watches Pet Stars on Animal Planet?:rotfl2:

Stories are welcome along with the pictures.

Let's see some more!

How cute.

Hey Everyone...I just had to add pics of my newest family member...here is Harley..later I will add pics of my two dachshunds and my husky and my kitty Gizmo...The other three dogs (the two dachshunds and husky) live with my MIL which is only two doors down but they are still my babies. The one dachshund and the husky were always mine but stayed with her during our move and now she refuses to give them back :lmao: (we get along GREAT and she is like my own mother) and I still get to see them everyday :lovestruc But because she took my two boys I got one more :rotfl2::thumbsup2 This one she is NOT getting :sad2:

Harley with my son the day we got him at 7 weeks old (this was this past December)

I got a story about my furbaby. 2 days after we bought her home, a tiny 2 pound puppy, we had to go to my sister's high school graduation. We put paper around the house, closed off a few doors, and went to the graduation. We come back around midnight, expecting to find the place a mess with the puppy sleeping in the middle of it. Well, what we find was quite a different matter. We came back to a drunk puppy. My dad had just received a 3 foot bottle of wine as a gift from his cousin, and left it standing in the living room. My 2 pound pup somehow managed to knock it over, and drink the entire thing, somehow avoiding all the shattered glass. We come back, and she's running in wobbly circles, tripping over herself, jumping, all this silly stuff. Next day, I think she had the biggest hangover. She just would not move. We called the vet, and he told us to let her sleep it off. She was fine though, she's 9 now and has had no ill effects from her night of drinking.

At least she learned her lesson...I've had a couple of nights like that!

Whoa, tazgirl, those are some big, beautiful ears! :goodvibes

Thanks...everyone always asks if I cropped his ears...apparently they do not know that the German shepherd breed doesn't often require ear cropping :confused3 Yup everyone always tells me how pretty his ears are...I guess I just always thought that all german shepherds have the pretty ears  But I do know that some do not stand up all the way or are floppy at the tips :goodvibes

I'm curious to find out if this is his final color...it appears that he has more brown coming in around his face though...he used to be a lot darker (as you can sorta tell with his 7 wk old pic) but I am happy with his color. I just didn't want him all black (even though I would love him no matter his color) :hug:He has finally gotten the all brown tummy and under his tail (top of the tail is black) so Im guessing he will probably have the blanket instead of the saddle for his color (on his back) but I have read that the color can change up to two years of age :confused3

Just wanted to share pics of my doggies that are now in care of my MIL...The husky is Taz, the brown dachshund is Copper and his sister (the black and tan dachshund) is Reese. The husky is 10 years old and the dachshunds are both 9.

This is my kitty Gizmo...she acts like a dog and hates other cats :lmao: She also sits on command and comes when called (I guess she has no choice since she grew up with so many dogs

And my beloved prairie dog "Rufus" who I wont go into too much detail but was taken and lost from me about a year ago and is deeply missed and I still am grieving over him. He was truly a family member but my neighbor despite my numerous warnings decided to go and clean out his cage (he was extremely territorial to those whom he didn't know or non family members) did, and somehow he got out and we never saw him again :sad2::sad1: And this was during a family vacation to Vegas, so not fun to return home to a lost pet :guilty:
