Of the poll choices listed, this is what we saw on a trip last week...

Stopping short (walkways, etc.) more people not looking where they are going
People not giving up their seat on the bus to someone who needs it more did not ride the bus system
Swearing none
Nudity none
Infants at parks Did not have any infants ruin any attractions or meals
Running commentary on rides/ talking on cell phones on rides none
Cutting in front in lines/ to watch the parade saw some of this, but nothing that impacted my ability to watch the parades
Smoking in non-designated areas none
People pretending to not speak English none
Having your personal space invaded none

In regards to ''Infants...Did not have any infants ruin any attractions or meals'', I did not mean infants/children ruining rides, I think WDW is meant for children, I meant that to some people it is disturbing/unneccessary that parents are bringing little tiny babies into the hot florida sun. That was not what I myself picked, I picked swearing at parks (because that is just rude around children), but that was one that had been mentioned on the original board about this topic, so that's why it is there.

Haven't voted yet.... I just want to find out where this "Nudity" is! Once I find out where it is I'm gonna have to put it on next years 'to do list'

1.- Parents hitting their kids. Of all places, at WDW no less.

I have to agree with this one--what bothers me the most is the way some parents treat their children. I've seen parents spank, yank, yell at, or publicly humiliate their children--from toddlers to teens--in the parks. Much of it seems to be their everyday parenting style, too! Most of the time it just makes me shake my head. :confused3

But, and flame me if you will, I have intervened in a couple of situations that I felt I couldn't ignore. And those are the times when I had my personal space invaded and heard the most swearing! :rotfl:

I'm not sure why this would be a pet peeve of anyones. Personally, I would never bring an infant(actually I would not even consider a child under 2) to WDW, but if others choose to do it and they find a way to keep the baby happy, it's no business of mine nor would it bother me in the least.

Yes, we people with infants should just stay home in front of the air conditioning and do nothing. :rolleyes2

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

A child that age should know that it's not ok to touch a strangers butt. The parents of said child should be paying attention to what the child is doing.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thank you. I did not appreciate getting flamed for telling a mother that her son needed to keep his hands off my butt. I said A**, but the mother was the only one who heard that, the kid was busy hanging on the rail at that point. But thanks to the person that assumed I said it in front of said child. And to the person who flamed me you should go back and flame the person I responded too. They said the a** word too. Please be an equal opportunity flamer if you must flame.

Smoking is my biggest pet peeve. :furious:

Smoking is my biggest pet peeve.:furious:

Agreed. Although I said swearing when I first started the thread, my opinions began to change and I really regret not having ''all of the above'' as an option-but oh well! They are all really annoying, but IMO you should get kicked out of parks/restaurants, etc. for smoking in non-designated areas !!

And by the way,

I was by no means trying to start a negative thread about wdw, it is my favorite place in the entire world, and I love it, I just thought it would be interesting to find out which of these annoying habits people find most annoying. I just needed to clear that up :)

Oh, andd ..
Haven't voted yet.... I just want to find out where this "Nudity" is! Once I find out where it is I'm gonna have to put it on next years 'to do list'

This meant people walking around without shirts (mainly men/boys for this one), and some complained teenage girls walking around wearing bikinis while not at water-parks was annoying, while I myself don't see anything wrong with it, with Florida heat being how it is, but that may be because I am used to temperatures of around -15 in winter to a high of +20 or so in the summer, so that may be the reason why I find the temperatures a bit extreme, that said, I am not one to walk around the parks wearing my bathing suit, even though I am a teenage girl, I prefer a light t-shirt and shorts when it's really hot out.

I hate it when well-endowed halter clad people pushing strollers stop short to cut in front of me just to get a better view of the parade and then when I give them a dirty look, they cuss and tell their friends on the phone that I probably think they're mean just because they blew smoke in my face and because their 35 year old virile husband wouldn't give up their seat on the bus to my 98 year old crippled grandma!

The only one of these that really bothers me is the smoking, we have had a bad experience though with my daughter's arm being burnt by a rude guest trying to hide the fact they were smoking on the way out after Wishes. The one that isn't there that I can think of is people who run to cut me off when I am pushing my dd in her stroller and then give ME a dirty look when I can't stop fast enough to avoid their heels.
I don't understand the Heeleys thing, can anyone explain what the problem is. Our kids don't have them (they can barely walk let alone roll :rotfl: ) but what makes them annoying in WDW

I have had to ask a mother to keep her kids hands off of me too. The kid was around 5. He had a REAL fascination with the back pocket of my shorts. I just turned around and asked the mother if there was some reason her son couldn't keep his hands off my a**. She at least had the decency to be embarrassed and apologized. Apparently there was a small thread hanging from my pocket that he just felt the need to pull off. Too bad he never got it.;)

:rotfl2:

As to the assumptions about what I said in front of a child - the kid never heard me, only the mother. I said it very close to her ear so that she could not pretend like she did not hear me. Besides, my child was there and she never hears mom or dad use any foul language. ;) The word I used was not a curse word, just a little more blunt than "butt"!!!

Personally, I wish the whole area in front of the castle was sitting room. WITH seats!:thumbsup2 But could you imagine the poor guy who has to bring them out and put them away!!! Disney could have automatic chairs that pop out of the concrete just before each show!!! :rotfl2: Then you'd have fights over who stole who's seat!:rotfl: :lmao:
Actually, if I remember correctly... wasnt there a CM roping in the area to be sitting only??? I know they do that a few places for Illuminations.

Facts are, however, that it is not designed for this. As nice as it would be, but obviously the intent was not for it to be "sit-down-and-watch-the-show-because-the-tired-people-behind-you-don't-want-to-stand seating" or else seats would have been put there in place of hard-on-your-bottom concrete.

You're right. She should have told the child PERSONALLY to get his hands off her ***. That way he feels as if his actions are just as valid and effective as an adult's. We wouldn't want his creativity and self-expression to be stifled.

By no means should infants have to stay home. But to drag a baby under 6 months old around the park in the heat of summer for 10-12 hours is too much for me. I picked that answer and I stick by it. :firefight

I have a child and have friends that have FOUR children, so I'm not unsympathetic to the needs of the entire family and not just one member. However, very young babies do not need to be drug through WDW - it's hard on any adult, much less a newborn IMO. Bring a sitter with you, hire one at the resort or maybe wait a year or two. I took my DD when she was 2 (TWO!) and it was a very hard day. We're locals, and for her most times of the year it was always far too hot, far too overstimulating and just too much unless we only did 1/2 a day.

I am not judging anyone here, do what you want - it's a free country and none of my business, but when I see infants in a snuggli in July, I'm always praying there's sunscreen, lots of shade and plenty of long breaks involved.
IMO.

I guess to me a little more blunt than butt is a**. I asked the mother quietly too but still got flamed for it. She did tell me it was not the first time he had done that. At least now I know I shouldn't say anything to a mother whose child has his hand up my shorts.

I would say basically everything that was listed applies to my pet peeves.

They said the a** word too. Please be an equal opportunity flamer if you must flame.
:rotfl2: :lmao: That was a very good comeback!:thumbsup2
Some parents do NOT watch their children. I'll give you that. My son is autistic, and he was a butt feeler.:rotfl2: We were always pullin him away from somebody's butt. He seemed obsessed with them. He also like to just lean on them. they were the perfect height. If the parents werent paying attention, it should be brought to their attention. We always watched our children. Some parents dont. I just objected to the profanity, not really the action.

Sorry for the flame.:scared: It occured to me that I had flamed after I did it and I remember thinking. "Ive been on the DIS too long". I try not to flame. Theres usually a better way to word things to make your point. I slipped.:faint:
