I didn't get the last two pets - did you email them?

Just sent them right now. Got busy over the weekend and didn't have time until now. Feel free to use or not use whatever I sent. Either way, I'm interested in buying a calendar when you are done, so please post when available. Thanks.

:cool1:

Got 'em - VERY cute! :) What's your dog's name? I'm thinking it's Tedi, but you never did mention it. Thanks!!

Thats Dino. She was rescued. Kinda hard to get a good pic in a cage. She isn't tame enough to let out of the cage quite yet....she does have a large cage though, and we are making her an even larger one!! 6 feet X 8 feet !!!

Yes, her name is Tedi. She will be 12 Wednesday. It's hard to believe that 12 years ago we rescued her from the pound as a skinny little puppy. :flower:

Ohhhhh!!! Too cute! And the whole black and white theme is too cool. :)

I'm late to this thread, but here are my pets:
KoKo.jpg

This is KoKo. Some of you may have remembered a post about him way back in June (my DD had named him Cutie Pie then, but soon changed it to KoKo). My DD8 and I found him in the middle of the road. He had a sprained leg and looked to be only about 8 weeks old. We took him to the vet, and he ended up being treated for ringworm, ear mites, worms, and some other intestinal parasite. The ringworm was the worst! It required daily applications of antifungal spray and twice-weekly baths. He had lost so much fur due to it, and he couldn't have been comfortable because it itches like crazy! He was malnourished as well. Poor baby. But doesn't he look great now???

Here is a funny pic of KoKo. He was showing a friend's dog who was boss, and the camera made his eyes glow:

Mason.jpg

Here is my 12 year old tri-color sheltie Mason. I got Mason when he was 4 months old from a breeder. He was the only one lleft over from a litter. Nobody wanted him, but my heart just melted when I saw him. He doesn't see and hear as well as he used to, but otherwise is doing fine.

Awww...I'm really loving all these photos - thanks so much for sharing them!

Here are a couple more that I finally got scanned. The first is of one of my parents' horses, an Arabian named Niljr (long story short: Arabian horses can't have names that include suffixes like "Jr.," "III," etc. His father's (abbreviated) name was Nile, so he's Nile Jr., but in a more condensed kinda way). Anyway, this is him in the barn during the winter, where a couple of chickens have wisely figured out that it's warmer for them to sit on the back of a horse than it is to sit up in the rafters with their comrades.

He actually didn't mind this at all; when I housesat for my parents, I'd go up to the barn to feed the horses in the morning and would always be shocked when I'd see a couple of hens roosting on his back, sound asleep. All Niljr cared about was getting his grain, and SOON. The chickens "rode" some of the other horses as well, even remaining standing on them as the horses walked around the back pasture. People never really believed us when we told them we had horseback-riding chickens. I can't imagine why. :teeth:

The second pic is of Cisco, whose story I just told in the "pet rescue" thread; she was adopted from the Humane Society along with my fat grey cat Rowan. In the pic, she's sitting up on top of a folding door; she used to like to hide up there and then swat gently (claws retracted, of course) at my head when I walked through the door.) She now lives out with my parents and is a sort of adopted mom to Izzy and Chopper, who need all the help they can get. Or at least Izzy does. :p

One last thing: the chickens are, in essence, rescues (or at least are descendants of a rescue). My parents'd never had chickens till one day, a hen picked up and left one of their neighbors and opted to set up shop in my parents' barn. We cleverly named her "Chicken," and she became part of the family. She came when she was called, just like a dog, running full-sprint from the barn down to the house. When I'd go out to the house to help my mom in the garden, Chicken would always be right at my side (or my mom's) waiting for us to hand-feed her any worms we came across while digging in the soil. She followed us around, just like a puppy. Eventually, my parents "borrowed" a neighbor's rooster for a bit so Chicken could have some babies, and ever since, there've been a couple dozen chickens roaming around the joint. Best eggs you've ever tasted, too; store-bought ones don't hold a candle to them.

A chicken named Chicken - isn't that kind of like the ape called Ape? ;)
