Lily and Sasha, rescued from a Women's Humane Society shelter in June 2004. Both are about a year and a half yrs old. :)

here's Dave, he was born in a rescue shelter, we got him at 8 weeks and lived with us for 12 years, except for the fact he used to try and steal beer from everyone, he was an awesome guy. Dave woke us the night our chimney caught fire.

this is Elsi, we got her from the shelter when she was about 1 year old.She may have been the smartest dog I ever met. She was pure joy and she never let us forget how much she loved us. We lost Elsi to lymphoma when she was only 5

and this is Boo, we got her from the shelter in nov 2002, she has turned out to be a great dog. She was abandoned then adopted and abandoned and adopted and returned in her short life prior to adopting us.She's a food mooch and possibly the laziest dog I've ever had but she is as sweet as can be.

Quasi23: Do you want to email me the photos? I'm not sure what's happening with your photos...and I don't have a photo hosting site, either.

Ran - LOVE your shots...do you have one of Elsi by herself. We're trying to limit the shots to pets only. Hope that's ok! Thanks! :)

I want to thank EVERYONE again for sharing these photos :grouphug:

I'll check for other Elsi pictures, I know I have some video caps of her but not sure I have scanned any other pictures, good luck hope you raise lots of money

So many fabulous pet photos! I'm very appreciative of all of them.

Here's my bird. He'd make a great Mr. February! I'll e-mail him to you. He was about 9 mos. old at the time of the photo and was purchased, not rescued.

I'm attempting to put together a calendar for 2006, with photos of different pets (rescued or otherwise).

Once the calendar is put together, I'm hoping to sell it to raise funds for an organization called Desert Paws (see www.desertpaws.org).

If you're interested in contributing a photo, please let me know - you can post your pet photos here, with the name, age, breed and whether or not the pet is a rescued pet.

Either that, or email a photo to me at

cookiegvb@yahoo.com

Thanks, everyone!

Gail
What a GREAT cause! The organization is indeed wonderful, and your fundraising efforts commendable. ::yes:: I love all the adorable faces in the photos posted on this thread. Please Gail, be sure to post the details on purchasing this completed Calender. :cloud9:

Just took these. Here's Lola, age 11, rescued in 2001:

She loves the snow and she's sitting in 3 feet of it. I can get a better pic of her but her happy face cracked me up right then.

And Miss Kitty, age 10, found in a boat in 1994 (is that a rescue?):

She hates the snow, cold, and lots of other things. This has been her normal expression for weeks.

Thanks again, everyone. Paige, I got the birdie. Stacey, I haven't seen Mickey in my yahoo account - maybe it's in my other email account. Hmmm... :scratchin

I'm planning on using EVERY pet sent - maybe not all the multiple shots, but each pet will make it onto the calendar. Some will be "pet of the month", others will be part of collage shots, and more will be in the "blank spots" on the calendar.

I've already started on a collage of the pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Not sure which page that will end up on...

I'm having a great time looking at all the photos, and figuring out where each should go is going to be so much fun. :)

Is it too late to send more pictures? I have 2 more cats but they are not rescues. Well sorta I got them from 2 different cousins.

One more...Annabelle, age 14 give or take a year, rescued in 1993.

This is Muffin, my mother adopted him from a rescue mission. This poor little puppy was near death and terrified of people when she took him in. Now, he is spoiled rotten and healthy as can be. Muffin is a toy poodle who is now a little over 2 years old.

Please keep us posted as to your progress with this project. I think what you are doing is wonderful and can't wait to purchase the final product. ~~~Kelly
