Pet lovers HELP moving

Weve got 4 cats, three of them are older. The older ones have moved at least 4 times with us. My new kitten, bandit, is the one im worried about. How do you prepair a cat for a move? I think this is really scary for her considering shes been with us less than a year,and was a abused stray. I am moving to a bigger city (4 hours away) with my sister and the two youngest cats. The older two will be moving with my mother to a new house. My aunt and her two kids will be living there too. Bandit will be moving with her best kitty pal (the other youngest) bosco. I guess this sounds silly, but I dont want bandit to worry shes going to be abandoned. Im packing already (we move the end of june). ANy tips on how to help the cats?

We just moved with our elderly cat and I have only one word--SEDATIVES. During the move which consisted a three hour drive, including a ditched UHaul 2 feet outside of our driveway, a four hour drive in near white-out conditions followed by a 12 hour ferry ride. We gave the cat sedatives three times during the journey, including one time in near blizzard conditions.

Prior to the move, extra attention and an understanding touch seemed to ease our cat's apprehension about all the changes.

I'm happy to report cat is doing well in her new surroundings. She spends her days watching the ocean tides, the otters playing in the waves and eagles soaring above our new home. She is however one uptight kitty and would have never made it without the sedatives.
