Anyone know of a good pet friendly resort in Orlando? We just got a new dog, and I hate to leave it at home for our 10 day trip next year. I am considering the Hard Rock, but it is pricey. Thanks.

We stay at Mainstay Suites (used to be Lake Cecile Suites). We like it, it's convenient to everything and usually you can get a decent price on HotelKingdom.com. They charge 10.00 per night per pet, but they are fairly relaxed about pets....or atleast they have been with us the 2 years we've taken our doxie. The Universal hotels are nice, they are said to be really pet friendly.....but we've never stayed at one due to the cost. They would enter in to my choices if money were no issue, as would renting a whole home for just the 4 of us. Best of luck on your trip.....even if you find a hotel that you really want to stay at but don't want to leave your doggy all the way back home, you can kennel them in one of the nice doggy hotels in Orlando like http://www.k-9lounge.com/ or http://www.vipet.net/ . And that way you'd be close enough to visit during the day or if anything should happen you'd be close by, but still have the freedom to stay at a non pet hotel.

They aren't "resorts" but I think most (if not all) Amerisuites accept pets for no extra charge. There are a few in the Orlando area to choose from.

LaQuinta does - they say the extra charge depends - upon what???

but I didn't get charged extra for Spicey being in my room.

Thanks for the replies. I think I might try the Holiday Inn Main Gate with the Kid Suites. Found it on one of the links you suggested.

The extra charge depends on the owners of that franchise. They allow owners to tack on a small fee (usually between $5 - 25 a night) if they want. Sometimes the owners feel there is extra cleaning involved if a pet was in the room. At least that is what I was told when I asked.
