Pet Care while at WDW

Usually, my mom will come over and take care of our pets. However, I'm thinking of asking my neighbors' kids to come over and take care of them. The three kids are here most every morning (I bring them to school) and play with the pets and love them.

How much should I consider paying them? There are three kids and I was thinking that their mom could split the total pay up as she sees fit based on who does the pet care. I have LOTS of animals. I have a cat, a beagle, 4 aquariums, a dwarf hamster, and a hedgehog. :rotfl:

Any ideas?

I paid the little girl next door a dollar a day, but geez, she only had to sprinkle fish food a couple times and get the cat fresh water. (Her mom scooped the litter box - that is a bit much for a six-year-old) You have quite a few critters!

Our pet sitter charges $11 a day for our cat (feeding and a litter scoop daily).

I'd probably offer at least $20 a day for that number of critters, maybe $25.

When I can get past the fact that you own a hedgehog, I'll answer your question. :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Can you post pics? :flower3:

What is his name?

Okay. I am all about the hedgehog now.

Pictures of my pets, as requested. :teeth:

Here's Kupo, this is right before her bath. (Ignore her waxy ear:blush:)

Here's Brandy

and Mickey. He's so hard to get a picture of. He's so active.

:rotfl2: That's where I was stuck, too. I've never met anyone who owned a hedgehog before nor would I know how much to pay a hedgehog caregiver. ;) Thanks for the picture! She looks adorable.

I'm in need of a hedgehog care giver....LOL... that sounds funny.... even though it's true.;)

Not to mention extremely tag-worthy! If you get one, I need partial credit. ;) A tag that is, not a hedgehog caregiver.

I'll give you credit for the hedgehog caregiver also. I'm more likely to get one of those.:thumbsup2

That hedgehog is cute! What's he like as a pet? How on earth did you get him?

Anyway, you say there's three kids, so I'd make sure the pay can be split three ways whatever you do. Sounds like you do some things for the family -- taking the kids to school, right? Do they pay you for it? If not, I'd say to pay them a little lower than what others are mentioning. How about $9 a day or $15 a day?

We pay our kennel $10 a day for the dog (lovely place out in the country!), but my dad feeds the cat for free, and they keep the bird in their house for free. We bring them a souvenir.

No, my neighbor and I take turns bringing the kids to school. One week for me, one week for her. I was thinking of a three way split but, I don't know how much would be enough.

She is a good pet even though she's not so cuddly...LOL. Her belly is soft and she lays her spines back while we're holding her. She is a tidy critter. She has a litter box with kitty litter which she uses. She's good at bath time. If we put her bag (just some fleece I sewed together) in front of her, she'll go in it, knowing we intend to carry her along with us. She sleeps most of the day unless she's being held and is awake at night running in her wheel. Even though she isn't cuddly, she's cute and amusing to watch.

I actually knew someone with a hedgehog too. Cute.

I would give them a little less than you would pay a "sitter"...maybe $10/day to split and then bring them each a tee shirt or something. They would probably love that. Good luck.

I wonder what Disney's policy is on a hedgehog rooming with us? Does Disney have an official rodent policy?:lmao:
