Nope - he is about 4 inches taller. The one pic I did a double tak on was him next to her at her Grand March. They are on stairs and she insisted being higher than him!

Go spoil yourself before your trip!!!! You deserve it! She got an acrylic set of nails put on but my favorite is the newer gel they do. Lasts tons longer and the paint never chips off. Worth the $10 upcharge when you can get 4 weeks out of a set without needing a fill.

Grand March is usually held in the HS of the students but sometimes in a bigger venue if there is a ton of kids at a school.

Anyway - ours was held in the gym, the Jr student council determines the theme, and decorates the gym accordingly. Then, the kids who bought prom tickets, walk through an arch of some sort, walk through the gym on a walkway in front of all the parents to see. Each couple is announced as they enter the archway. They keep it very orderly - announcing a couple every 30 seconds or so. This allows for maybe 3 couples at all different section of the runway (it zig zags to both sides of the gym) and plenty of time to be in the spotlight and photo ops for parents. Music is playing the whole time via a piano player - usually music teacher. They start off the night introducing the Jr Council members and a duet is sang from a boy and girl from the elite choir.

It's fun - like a fashion show. I love seeing all the girls and so many styles. There was 290 couples this year and not 1 girl duplicated any other!!! In fact a few of those couples were 2 girls walking with one guy.

In my HS - it was on the stage in the theater - here there are more seats in using both sides of the bleachers so more parents, grandparents etc. can come.

Here is the pics - There theme was "Starry Nights Forever" - like a night at the beach.

They used black palm trees, black on the floor to represent water at night and the runway was the color of sand.

Here is Carsyn BF Sara who Treyner went to prom with his Jr year for those who remember that whole mess. It is at the place the couples are introduced.

Here is the whole gym setup.

The very end of the walkway had a black and white balloon arch the kids passed through.

He does have the girls - but he tends to stick to a handful and he just rotates them every month or so!!!

All caught up again! Loved the pics of the kids in their formal wear; you have gorgeous kids!!!

We visited Key West briefly 2 years ago (it was a stop on the Disney cruise) and we fell in love. DH wants to spend a week there for his 50th (in 3 years), so I bookmarked the website for they place where you stayed.

Hi!! Posting now as I understand you hate lurkers!! I've finally gotten through the whole thing (I'll be honest - I skimmed some of the in between chatter) and I have to say your TR is soo much fun! You definitely have me cracking up in a few places I'm going to go back and read your others - I felt a little lost with a couple references and hoping it all falls into place once I read those.

I live in Ottawa and so I usually fly to Disney. However, I have some friends who want to go maybe in late 2011, and we'd likely drive. Your plan of trying to find the "out of the way" joints featured on Triple D sounds like a ton of fun, and a good way to break up a 24+ hour (that's just driving, not counting pit stops and sleeping) road trip!!

Anyhow - can't wait to see how the rest of your adventures go!!

Awesome about going to the Y! A few months ago I decided I was going to start going to the gym so I would look super fly in my bikini in Florida...and I have not gone at all Although seeing Taylor makes me want to get more motivated!!! Think in just over 50 I can get as toned as her?!?! DOUBTFUL!

I had a laugh over the pics of everyone sleeping in the van, must I must express how much I DESPISE having people take pictures of me when I am sleeping. It literally makes me want to kill people. I have a really weird issue with anyone looking at me while I am sleeping...

OMG loved the prom pics!! Carsyn's hair was beautiful, I am always jealous of girls with thick, long, gorgeous hair! Mine is straight as a board and almost nothing changes that...If I let my hair grow too long it just looks really thin and gross Her dress was amazing too! And was there any shoe pics? I just recently learned how to walk in heels ands have developed a minor shoe fetish The style of her dress was so pretty! I cannot pull off a dress like that cause I have the build/curves of a 12 year old boy I wore out a little dress and my new 5 inch heels the other night...with the shoes I was 6'1ish and with the 0 curves I am pretty sure most people thought I was a transvestite

I am sorry to hear about your cat. We had to have our dog put down a few years ago and it is a very hard thing to do. We had her for around 12 years I think.
