"Personally, I think I would make a great stripper!" 8/10 The End

first, thanks for posting the recipes - I'm definitely going to try them when all the kids are home this summer - I'm afraid if I make them now, my husband and I will eat them all and they'll have to cut an opening in our house to get us out. As to guessing how many movies, I'll take 31 although from reading your last trip report I think something happened to your collection, like the box got left at some rest stop or it was taken hostage by a backwoods, banjo playing gas station attendent down in my neck of the woods!

can you post your chicken salad reciept? that one looked pretty good to me.

Tell me about your screen name - Treyner goes by Trey at times!!!

People started calling me Tray Rene in high school (my name is Tracy Rene). Even today (maaaany years later), more people call me Tray than Tracy, even people I don't know well. I guess it just fits me for some reason.

I love your kids' names. Too funny about you wanting your children's names to have y's in them so they get to write all curly!

I think you're onto something with "Travel Tales and Tid Bits From the Open Road". Love it!

Chicken Salad ala Dawn: (Starter recipe)

This one is not as specific, as I make it to taste. I will re-make it this weekend and try to write down exact details of what I add to make it taste exactly like I serve it.

Ingredients:

3 large boxes - Creamette ring noodles - (the tiny ones)

1 - rotisserie chicken (I often just get it from the deli) or 4 chicken breasts cooked in 2 tbsp butter on stove top.

5 dill pickle spears/more if you love pickles - cut into small chunks

Mayonnaise NOT Miracle Whip (I prefer Helman's)

White Vinegar

S&P

#1 Cook noodles al dente and then strain and rinse with cold water - set aside. Really shake the water off of them!

#2 Tear up chicken and throw in big mixing bowl. (You can do dark and white meat or all white depending on your preference.)
*I remove all skin, then tear by hand into thin shreds of chicken.

#3 Cut pickles into small chunks - I actually use a hand held food processor and not quite mince mine - you want to be able to bite the pickle flesh but not into too big of chunks, or too mushy and end up with relish.

Add to chicken

#4 Add noodles that should be totally dry by now.

#5 - Start adding mayo - depending on how thick you like the salad - will depend on how much you add. Make sure to stir from the bottom to incorporate all the chicken and pickles throughout.

#6 When you reach the desired consistency, add a tablespoon of vinegar - (I love vinegar so I add more to my own bowl when I serve myself) and S&P.

If you are making this for the next day - do not bother adding mayo/vinegar or S&P, the noodles will just absorb the mayo and you will end up needing to add more the next day and it will never be as good as when mixed fresh. - Just let it sit in fridge and add cold mayo about 2 hours before serving and put back in fridge.

If eating right away, add cold mayo, cover tight - then chill for 2 hours. This salad is wonderful when cold - we have tried it before letting it chill and never tastes as good.

Like I said, I have been making this forever and is one of those things you just learn by taste depending on preference. My kids love pickles so we add more often. Sometimes I will add a few tablespoons of pickle juice as well to the salad mix.

This last time, we had some cashews and sprinkled them on top of the chicken salad when we had served it to our own plates.

***Cashews you cannot add to the main salad and keep even overnight or they will turn to mush. Same flavor but no crunch! If you plan on adding cashews, I would hesitate on adding salt to the main salad. It may be way to salty for individual palettes.

Dizneydawn Chicken Salad #2

I did not make this time but do often.

Ingredients:

1- bunch of red grapes - washed, dried and cut in half
1 - rotisserie chicken - de-skinned and torn into larger/bite sized chunks
Helman's Mayo (again not miracle whip)
3 stalks of celery - I take each stalk and cut straight across into small slivers.

Toss together until desired consistency of mayo is reached - add S&P - add cashews to your own plate - garnish on top if serving in a decorative bowl but make sure they are eaten right away!

Yay for the Nutteroo recipe! I also am going to make them this weekend. I agree that there should be a drooling smilie. I think I am going to try to make mine Mickey ear shaped
Smart idea!!!!

Leash - I am going to drive to Vegas, get distracted by casino lights, pass out from exhaustion and then broke not be able to afford a taxi, rob an old lady near a vending cart....... and then...crawl to your home and choke you!

Write girl, write!!!!

Well I do live right off the Strip (downtown end) and just blocks away from several strip clubs, in case you wanna give the old pole dance a whirl  (closest thing to a stripper I could find) so you could make some dollars to catch a cab back to your hotel after you choke me!

I am anxiously waiting for this one-I too roast my chicken or turkey for salad, but I am trying to figure out if you used pasta in there too. I also need a good recipe for macaroni salad that doesn't taste just like potato salad.
Dawn, I noticed that you are an early riser-I have to start making myself get out of the bed earlier in preparation for our early park mornings. We sleep in until 9 and stay up until 1 0r 2 am at home, but I make everyone get up by 7am in Disney!
Also, I never work out except a month or so before a Disney trip. I go on the treadmill every night to prepare for all the walking and long hours! :confused3Ha Ha, I thought this pic meant working out!

:confused3He does kind of look like he's lifting weights! :lmao:

I am not technically a lurker since I just found this TR today!! but i am joining the fun if that is ok? I would like to put my guess in at 24.

AAAHHH I forget to log on this morning and I'm four pages behind!!! This cannot be a regular occurance. Thanks so much for the recipe!! I'll probably con DBF's sister into helping me make them. She's a lot better at baking than she is at ironing (thank the Lord). Is it sad when I have to explain to his entire family how THEIR iron works?

Just looking around the DIS, and came across you TP. What fun reading. I sort of wished I would have found it a few weeks from now, when you would have posted more. I live in Knoxville, and now I hanging on the side of my seat...did you make it to K-town? Did you get caught by a speed trap? And did you see our state flower, those lovely orange traffic cones? :rotfl2:

Really enjoy your writing style. And I am guessing that the "Mistress of the Snack Bin" just might have over done the CD's too (and that's not a bad thing,) so I am guessing you took 40, as they are small, and you can fit a lot in a bin! But I also imagine that you did not watch near that many...likely none, but that's been taken, so I will go with 40 if its available, 10 for each person. :3dglasses

Eagerly waiting you next installment! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Just for that I outta come down there!

I posted it at the top of the page already...jeesh!:rotfl: I have a good macaroni salad - I will get to that later! Man I need to get a recipe book going! :thumbsup2

I am up by 6 am with no alarm clock every day. It is a curse. No matter how early/late I go to bed the night before either. At Disney - we tend to lag a bit in the morning - at home I am up before the kids. I liked the 2 bedroom at OKW for that reason - I could be up, shower and have breakfast ready, they can get up and eat, then shower while I clean up. Less frustration from all sides.
Also, I never work out except a month or so before a Disney trip. I go on the treadmill every night to prepare for all the walking and long hours! :confused3Ha Ha, I thought this pic meant working out! That is totally a Dawn moment! Did I tell you guys I called 911 on accident last week because I was listening to something on the internet about a kid who saved his parent, then was making a call at the same time and the next thing I know I had dialed 911.

Yeah - how that was possible I will never know. Proof I cannot walk and chew gum I guess!
If you think you being naturally skinny makes me like you more - you are dead wrong!:rotfl2:
:confused3He does kind of look like he's lifting weights! :lmao:
I see that now - from a unique point of view! :upsidedow
Off to get the graham cracker crumbs....:drive:
& making Nutteroo's on the weekend!!
I want reports people!!!
We don't have those crackers here =(

What can I use as an alternative?

Sarah
You have to have graham crackers...Is it possible they are called something else? I will post a picture of them.

I am not technically a lurker since I just found this TR today!! but i am joining the fun if that is ok? I would like to put my guess in at 24.
Yes - you are fine - got ya down and go back and read the old Tr's - they are still entertaining and one is just from December 2009.

The bars are actually a no bake bar so you can manage them!!!
Just looking around the DIS, and came across you TP. What fun reading. I sort of wished I would have found it a few weeks from now, when you would have posted more.Ditto to what I said earlier - go back and read the old TR's and some of the PTR's...worth the entertainment value! I live in Knoxville, and now I hanging on the side of my seat...did you make it to K-town? Did you get caught by a speed trap? And did you see our state flower, those lovely orange traffic cones? :rotfl2:

I am miffed! I did not pack the movies - Dan did. I stick to over packing food! :lmao:
Eagerly waiting you next installment! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Tonight perhaps!!!!

I see you like to make stuff with rotisserie chicken, my favorite and the easiest way! I have an awesome chicken enchilade recipe using rotisserie chicken if anybody is interested?
