Yes or No? For the reception I was thinking of doing our seahorse logo on napkins should I or save the money?
Opinions please

we had personalized napkins at our reception & prereception i thought it was a nice touch & it wasnt expensive. at the prereception we had red napkins with gold foil roses with our names & wedding date to continue the rose theme from our ceremony. at the reception we had blue napkins with silver foil shells with our names & wedding date to go with the under sea theme at ariels. in all it cost around $30 on sale at now-and-forever.com

I did them and ended up not even noticing them. I would save the $.

I'm with KT27. I'm sure you'll be so busy with photographs and staying on top of your event that the napkins will be the last thing on your mind. I'd spend that money toward personalizing something more "personal" like champagne glasses, etc.

Yes as sajetto said the Mickey & Minnie Toasting glasses are $17.50 each and you can have them engraved with your names. We did that & its a nice keepsake for our anniversary. You can buy them at DTD in Arribas Bros.

We're having personalized cloth napkins at our wedding... that I have sewed myself. It wasn't hard to do, and they add the splash of color that I want on the tables. :)

I have a napkin question...Can you have the personalized napkins at your cake cutting and Dessert Party if you are an Intimate?

I would love to do this. We had it for our wedding 17 years ago...I'd love to do it again, but if I can't use them...I'll find another place to spend that $$$.

As a guest at a wedding this past weekend (not Disney) I liked seeing the personalized napkins. They also had personalized matchbooks. Now I know not many people smoke anymore but I have a huge collection of matchbooks from different weddings I have been to. I always take them home and keep them and use them (lighting candles on cakes, etc). I guess it depends on how many you need and how much money you have to spend. I also took home a napkin and plan on putting it in my photo album with pictures from the wedding.

I went to their website to order the glasses and have them engraved. How did you do your date? Our date won't fit and I want the month (December) spelled out. Shoul I call?

Thanks,

I used to do engraving and glass etching. On champagne flutes there's not a lot of room -- the writing will wrap around. I would use the numbers or abbreviate Dec. They can do the date smaller than your names.

I still haven't had the date engraved. I waited because dh is in the Army and our date changed 2x before he was ok'd on leave. I will take them next trip to have May 22, 2006 engraved!

I think the napkins are a nice touch and guests save them a lot. I didn't do them and in retrospect wish that I had for that reason and because one would be cute in my scrapbook;-)

I think they are cute. Then again I am a presonalization freak when it comes to stuff like that lol.

I had my own personalized napkins with Mickey & Minnie on them! I love them and had to have them! We had our names and wedding date put on them in silver! I made sure to have my own flutes and knife & server because I wanted everything Mickey & Minnie! ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

I wouldn't get them. I can't remember if any wedding I've ever been to has had them. Your guests are going to be so into the reception and you guys that they won't remember the napkins. Also, I don't think it's the kind of thing that will make people will say "I can't believe they didn't have personalized napkins!" Just my 2 cents.

Thanks! I went to my local invitation/print store here in NC and they had a book of tons of stuff, including Disney and they were able to call and have them ordered and made for us. I can't even think of the name of it right now! We also ordered our flutes and knife & server from them.

I say not to get them. It's money down the drain. I went to one wedding that had personalized ribbons on the favors (little votive candles in glass holders) and their names and wedding date engraved on burgundy napkins. It all got thrown away. I felt bad because she spent money on that stuff, and it was just a waste. When we left, there were tons of little candles left on empty tables with pretty custom ribbons tied to them, and napkins on the ground with Amy and Scott written on them. It all got tossed. I say spend money on the important stuff like food, music, and CAKE!!! :cake:
