Personalized Maps idea

So, we cannot afford to do welcome bags or anything for our guests, but I was just thinking about those free personalized maps they offer for WDW vacationers through their main website. They give you one map for each park.

-Anyone gotten these done before? They are really cute. You order them free through the Disney website and they come on really nice paper and say "The ____" Family across the top.

Well, I was wondering if you think I could order about 18 of these & they could say "_______ wedding party" along the top.

I would be willing to pay for these, and I'm assuming they wouldnt be too expensive. I was thinking it would be fun to have these placed in all of our guests resort room upon arrival. Or, we could always leave them with the front desk to give out when our guests check in.

-What do you think of this idea?
-Anyone ever done this before?
-Do you think they would charge me? (they are free for travelers and all of our guests will be wdw travelers during our trip. We would just like them to say "_____ Wedding Party" instead....and maybe the date.)
-Who would I even call about this?

Also, along with this idea, I'm not sure what to write for these things, along the lines of marriage ettiquette. When they receive the maps, we wont be married yet (one day before). Do we still write "The Andersons Wedding Party" or is it more proper to put our first names only or something?"

I ordered some a while back when we were first planning... they are really nice, except they're a little larger than a regular park map, methinks. It might be awkward to carry (although, it has 2 maps for the 4 parks, they're printed back to back). They say onsite that you can only order 1 set every 6 months, so you'd definitely have to contact disney for more info on that. We can't really afford to do any elaborate welcome bag, but I'm starting a welcome folder, and putting activities and things in there-- like hidden mickey stuff, scavenger hunt, word search, etc. Check out the thread called "welcome folder" for more cheapy ideas.

Just an update I was looking for advice on.
So, I emailed WDW and asked them about the personalized maps (just to see if there was any way I could pay for them), but it was a no-go to pay for them.

So I had an idea-what if DF & I ordered a personalized map for us & just brought them to a copy center and got them photocopied?? We'll try to get them to say "______ wedding party" on the top, but if we can't we are going to try and see if a professional copy center will add it and just make the copies for our guests.
I just love the look of the personalized maps & I think this will be a fun and useful little welcome gift!

What do you think? Does that sound kosher? All we would be doing is editing the name on the top to say "____ wedding party" instead of our names & making copies of something that WDW offers for free anyways. We are just going to need about 10 of them.

I work for a huge print center and we wont do them. they are copyrighted by disney. I just looked at mine and they are for sure. You can go to disney for a copyright release form. Even in my planning session we wont over copyright since they knew where i work.

Darn it! I thought I was really onto something! :headache: Oh well, thanks for telling me....hmmm, maybe when we get closer to the date I'll see if I can get one of those copyright releases.
