Personalized bricks at Polynesian

Sorry if this sounds so negative (flame suit on), but I am really fed up with the Walk Around The World office and the way they handle issues. I was not fortunate to get a brick this time, even though I had a lengthy conversation with 3 people from that office when the news broke about new stones available for purchase. This stone would have been for my youngest daughter. I requested the forms, they sent me the forms, and I followed their directions only to be left hung out to dry once again. They refuse to respond. No one knows anything. You cannot get a straight answer. I really don’t care whose fault it is. Bottom line is a lot of people got screwed in the end. This is the second time for me. Yes, this is my second issue with them. My first issue was when they lost the path stone I purchased for my oldest daughter in 1998. I wrote letter after letter, made phone calls but no one could seem to help. Letters went unanswered, phone calls never returned. It took a write up in the Orlando Sentinal (with the help from someone here - not to be named) to get her stone back. I am forever grateful to this person. I now have pictures and a general location, but I have not seen it in person yet. We are not going until August. Now with this latest fiasco, I was assured my application was in the hands of a higher power and I would be contacted with an explanation. Once again, NOTHING! This is the kind of stuff that would occur under Eisner’s reign, but he is gone. Does anyone know what is going on in the organization? I understand they are a large corporation and have to cater a large audience, but that is their job. I can remember a time when they went out of their way to make sure your experience with the Disney Corporation was second to no other. It seems in recent years, this is no longer the case. They really need to take a look at how this office is managed, because it doesn’t sound like it is being managed at all.

Is there a reason why you are calling me out?

Please, don't get the wrong idea. I just thought the good people of this thread would like to know whose signature is on the certificate you received in the envelope with 'Magic Kingdom' as the return address.
Unless.... you don't know :rolleyes1

I keep getting this feeling from you that you think I am some kind of BS artist who was planted here to "say" that I got my certificates. Believe it, the certificates are in my possession. I have no idea why I was the one to get mine, but I did. And, yes, I do know who "signed" them.

You just popped up here out of nowhere and you seem to have taken a liking to my posts. If you are having some kind of personal problem, then I suggest you address it, otherwise, please move on.

Don't take it personally Tiggs...there are a lot of people who are frustrated that they weren't able to get in under the wire and feel like they were shafted. IMO, their frustrations are well founded. Disney did drop the ball on this one by allowing the new brick project to get away from them. Unfortunately, some people would rather pick apart the validity of your posts with the hopes that no one got a brick than to deal with the real object of their frustrations, The Disney Company. You're here, so it's simply easier to pick on you than it is to take shots at a multi-national corporation that doesn't seem interested in giving anyone's complaints much merit.

Jealousy, pure and simple...even from those of us who were told that we were getting bricks, but yet to see it in writing... :bitelip:

Well dont' speak for all of us because personally I don't care who signed the certificate! I don't see why anyone would have a reason to lie about something like this. I also don't see why it would make such a big deal to you even if it WAS a lie...

I did get a call 2 days ago from someone from the executive offices. He said that "they made accomodations for me to get a brick". Funny way to phrase it, but he assured me that I was getting one, the charge on my CC was legit and anything else I heard was false rumor.

Good enough for me! I'll wait for my letter and keep up hopes that it'll be placed before Sept :)

Talk about personal problems, holy paranoia Batman! I just wanna know who signed the certificate. Was it the Mouse? Exec from the MK? Robert Iger?
:scared:

Alright, everyone - take a deep breath and count to ten - or more, if necessary. Let's not get the thread closed down before we all find out what's really happening with our brick orders!

[If you all hang around the boards long enough you'll find that many Disers are, erm, cautious when talking with newer posters. Unfortunately, there are folks who love to "stir the pot" :stir: and we see them only briefly before they disappear. We hope this is not true of anyone on this thread.]

Even I, most reasonable of men, got flamed for something I said in an early post which was meant in the most kindly way. :firefight But we learn and move on.

pixiedust: to us all! <fingers still crossed for luck>

I understand the frustration. Thanks for this post.

Had you not put a "rolleyes" symbol next to your last question, I would have assumed you were asking about out of pure curiousity. But we both know this is not the case. You are clearly trying to insinuate something, I'm just not too sure what. Sarcasm seems to be the theme to questions/comments you have been posting to me specifically, and I find it rather annoying. So, this will be the last time I address you personally.

There is absolutely no reason for me to lie about receiving the certificates. I am truly sorry that apparently no one else has gotten theirs yet. Techinically, I am also waiting for certificates, as I was told that my brick location would be changing, so the certificates I do have may be useless. However, if something else goes wrong, I am glad to have them as I was told they are my "receipt" for paying Disney. At this point, I care very little where the brick is located, I am just happy to have one (if in fact I do).

By no means have I intended to be insensitive to those of you who are not getting a brick due to Disney's obvious mishandling of this situation.

Fortunately, my post count does not define me. I am no stranger to these boards. I'll just leave it at that. Thanks for this post!

So are there any other DISers (maybe someone lurking over the thread) that can tell me who signs the certificates?

Did you order a brick? If so, I would wait until the certificate arrives and read it myself. If not, why does it matter to you?

I'm almost afraid to jump in here. :scared: I faxed my information in WAY after all of you and I received an email that I was getting a brick. :confused3
I didn't find out about the bricks from this thread though, there is another one out on the Dis too. I wish that Disney would just come clean with exactly what happened because it doesn't seem as though there was an official cut off date, and no rhyme or reason as to who got a brick and who didn't.

Sea Turtles- I have a friend that has 2 bricks from when the program first opened. I believe she has the certificates framed. I'll see if I can find out who signed them and send you a PM. ;)

If we don't get our snail-mailed responses, not to worry. I'm going to WDW for a week on the 29th and I'm taking the email of my brick location with me. I plan on stopping by and saying hi to Denise and Dean at the Stroller Center to find out where my brick's located. My trip's 2 weeks away, and I'm sure we'll all have heard from Disney Parks and have our maps by that time, but if we don't, I'll report what's up.
