Personalized bricks at Polynesian

That's a great question. It's all speculation at this point. Has anyone been successful in contacting them over the weekend and today?

I called several times over the weekend and throughout the day today, and no one is answering the phone. I left a message over the weekend with my cell phone and home e-mail address, and as of right now, no return phone call, and I hadn't received an e-mail at home as of 8 a.m. when I left for work.

I'm very disappointed, too. :sad2:

I'm so disappointed! My husband was getting me a brick for my birthday and we were very excited about it. I also left e-mail, phone # and haven't heard anything. I always wanted a brick!

OK, everybody. You can now breathe a sigh of relief. I received my certificate(s) today showing the layout of my brick along with the placement number and a map showing me where I can find it.:cool1:

However, It is NOT being placed where I was originally told it would be (on the walkway near the Poly and GF) but near the exit of MK. I am slightly disappointed by this as it was the CM I originally spoke with who actually suggested placing it near the GF Wedding Pavilion as I was purchasing an anniversary brick.

I am VERY happy that I finally have a brick and that I was not taken for a ride.

Although I was never really concerned, I'm glad to hear the news. I'm assuming Disney allowing those of us who purchased a brick a chance to proof-read it to make sure that everything is layed out properly and spelling is correct, no?

If they're actually sold out already, I wouldn't be surprised. This news was tearing across Disney discussion boards all over the internet over the last couple days. Congrats to those who got in under the wire!

From what I was told today when I called a different phone# in the MK, was that the response was overwhelming. Just think if the news went to other websites too. A small office with other things to do, can be overwhelmed by the calls and emails. They just might not be able to handle all of it. They were just selling some bricks to fill in some spaces. (That's what I was told.)

As for the comment "didn't they keep count of all the forms they sent out?" Even if they did, a percentage of people would decide against it. Plus think of all the sharing of forms on this thread alone. No way Disney could keep track.

Last Tuesday when I sent in my application, Denise with WDW called me back within 2 hours of my original phone call. I think it can safely be said that sales are probably over, but why risk it? I'd send in an application anyway and see if they might squeeze a few extras in. It certainly can't hurt. If they don't have any left, they'll simply shred your application, or save it for the next go around. If interest was as overwhelming as some people here are saying, I wouldn't be surprised if Disney decided to start planning to open up new Walk Around the World sections immediately.

No kidding! I alone sent out roughly 70-80 applications to other DISers and I know that I certainly wasn't the only one sending emails! Seeing that there were only 3 Magic Kingdom Stoller Center CMs taking orders, they must have been absolutley swamped!!

Lindsay, I never got an email or call from them either like other DISers did. Until you hear otherwise, I'd send (or have whomever send ;)) that form in and see what happens! :wizard:

Well I just don't know if I got in or not. I faxed my application in on Thursday last week. I don't know if there is a pending charge yet because I can only see $$ amounts and not from where until it actually posts. I did a bit of shopping over the past week so I guess I won't know until I see it post on my card.

I will be bummed if I missed out :(

ETA:
I just checked my cc and no pending charge from WDW for anything. But I also heard from the poster that has received their certificate that they put through applications on Tuesday. So I guess we will wait and see.

I also did email and leave a voice mail just to verify they received my application. I guess I should have done it shortly after I sent it but who knew?

I just spoke with Roger when I called the number and he said that they shut down selling the bricks as of 5/31. He said they ended up selling approx 70 bricks and many people within the department wanted to continue selling however the "higher up" did not want to continue the sales at this time. He did say to keep your eyes open b/c he could see the sales of bricks returning. I am so sad I didn't see this thread sooner. Hopefully they will start selling them again and congrats to everyone who got a new brick!!!

also i called at 11:20 EST and they answered, it seems like later at night might be the best time to get someone live if you want to ask more questions. Plus they are kinda bored and like to tell you some "inside" stories.

Darn it! Looks like I just missed getting a brick!

OMG. I got my application last week, but I didn't send it in yet because DH and I were still discussing the cost. Darn. :(

Wow...only 70 bricks were sold? That's just a hair off from the 20,000 that were originally reported... :teeth:

Edited:

Called and spoke with Dean because I had faxed my application as of 5/31 and he said the program was closed on 5/30 and that some people will be receiving refunds for their bricks if they were charged.

So if you are not charged (like I wasn't) then we are out of luck. But if you were, then it looks like it is up in limbo because you might get a brick and you might get a refund.

Wonder why they did this?

I asked if they shread the applications that haven't been charged and he said they were turned over to Disney legal and it is in their hands now.

Just reporting what the phone call entailed.

I faxed mine on 5/31 and my cc has been charged but we'll see what happens.

I faxed mine on 5/30 but at night. The charge showed up the next day (well the pending charge, my bank takes forever to post sometimes) so hopefully I'll get in. Called on the weekend and left my phone number and email address but I haven't heard back from anyone. Maybe I'll take someone's suggestion and try calling late at night (I forgot WDW was open so late!).

Despite receiving a certificate and a brick number I have now been told that I WILL NOT BE GETTING A BRICK AFTER ALL AS MY ORDER DID NOT GO OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

I decided to call Disney just to check on my brick as I thought I was SO lucky to have slipped through. NOT!

I was told that the CMs were told the program was closed as of MAY 25th, not the 31st, and that those who got their applications in BEFORE the 31st, would be receiving certificates and numbers even though the program was closed. The orders will NOT go through despite being charged and assigned numbers, all orders have been CANCELLED and I/we should be receiving refunds within 2-4 weeks.

The CM suggested that we file a complaint with Guest Communications/Relations. The CMs are just as upset and frustrated as we are, if not more, as their names were attached to this program and now they have the horrible task of informing all of us that we will NOT have a brick. AAARGGGHHHHH!

Needless to say, I am VERY disappointed.

P.S. The CM also said that the chances of this program being opened again in the future are SLIM TO NONE.

Oh no....how did you find out? Did they call you?

Well what kind of craziness is that?? Why bother opening it up then?

Must be something with Disney legal, I bet. I was told that all applications are in Disney legal hands. I asked if the applications would be shreaded since I know most of us put our cc numbers on them and faxed them over and I was told they were all turned over to Disney legal.

Must be something going on with that.

Bummer for all of us.
