Personalized bricks at Polynesian

Called and spoke with Dean because I had faxed my application as of 5/31 and he said the program was closed on 5/30 and that some people will be receiving refunds for their bricks if they were charged.

So if you are not charged (like I wasn't) then we are out of luck. But if you were, then it looks like it is up in limbo because you might get a brick and you might get a refund.

Wonder why they did this?

I asked if they shread the applications that haven't been charged and he said they were turned over to Disney legal and it is in their hands now.

Just reporting what the phone call entailed.

Same here.I just called Dean too. WE GOT OUR APPLICATION ON THE 30TH and faxed it back on the 31st and our cc was charged June 4th. He asked me when I got the application and when I faxed it and he said I would be contacted by Disney and that my paperwork would be destroyed and not to worry about the number being 'OUT THERE' and that we would get a refund and I would NOT GET A BRICK. He apologized and was very nice. :sad2:

:sad1: I'm officially bummed now but I guess there isn't a whole lot I can do about it though.

ARGH!!!!!

So, did it close as of 5/25 or 5/30? I faxed on the 29th, and was charged by the weekend...

so I guess those of us who used snail mail are out of luck. I left a message yesterday and e-mailed Dean, no response on both fronts as of right now. And my card has NOT been charged.

Okay I think that legal form has something to do with this. I think the legal form being faxed was the RED FLAG.....

I think that as long as you buy it in person....sign up there at the kiosk it is all legal. I think the faxed forms (the legal one) are the problem. I think this entire thing overwhelmed them and then the legalty of the forms being faxed is was caused all the orders to be cancelled. I am hoping that the kiosk will open back up and in Aug. or Nov. I can order one.

The CM suggested that we file a complaint with Guest Communications/Relations. The CMs are just as upset and frustrated as we are, if not more, as their names were attached to this program and now they have the horrible task of informing all of us that we will NOT have a brick. AAARGGGHHHHH!

Does anyone have an e-mail, phone # or address for Guest Communications/Relations? I think they are about to get a lot of angry phone calls and letters.

I think that the CM's are innocent and that the higher ups are the problems. I think the program will open back up but it will only be available on site or by mail. Maybe the people that mailed their applications in will actually be the only ones that get a brick.

I can also tell you they better be issuing my refund ALOT sooner than 2-4 weeks because if I have to pay intrest on this charge I'm not going to be happy.

I too think it has something to do with Disney legal since all apps are in their hands. But I don't know if it has anything to do with apps being faxed as things like that are signed via email and faxed all the time in the corporate world.

A case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.

Well, I hope I at least get the form showing what it *would* have looked like. A girl can always dream!

Although take DVC for instance.....you can buy without being there but they mail it all to you and you have to mail all the signed paperwork back. I think it came down to the faxed forms.

Maybe my "phony" certificates with my brick inscription and number will be worth something some day, LOL. At this moment, tho, I am THOROUGHLY bummed. This was to be a surprise wedding anniversary gift for my DH. I was going to hold my tongue until the end of August, and walk him over to it on our actual anniversary date.

Now what will I get him???!!!!!!!:confused3

I am completely confused. Did some people get a brick or didn't they? If they did, what date did you have to buy it by?

I faxed stuff to the bank and gov't before with my signature on it and it wasn't a problem. Emailing in a scanned form I could see as being an issue but faxing something should be fine. Besides, IF that was the problem why not just contact everyone and say "hey, you can have your brick but you need to mail us the legal form since we can't use the faxed one". Something else is up.

I know...I did something similiar. I was going to surprise our family (dh included) in Aug. :(

Maybe the legal eagles are trying to decide what to do. Maybe they will contact us and say if we mail them in we can get the brick.

What about the certificate made you want to call and check on it? I would never have thought to do that if I had one. I would have assumed it was a done deal.

I bet it is the forms being emailed to all of us ...that is the problem. EMAIL IS NOT SECURE....the legal forms could easily be altered and we would never know it.
