Person who does not knoe Africa is continent...almost VP!!!

If you saw him speak at LU in May 2006 you might have realized he could have lost your respect much earlier.

Seriously as a former McCain supporter, I am so disppointed that he had to swallow his vomit and hook up with the Moral Majority.

That is not McCain, however the Republican party had made it a "rule" that you must reign in the Christian Right.

I will not be sad to see them go and I want our country back going after pressing issues that are critical.

Yes, a more moderate Republican Party will put them in a good position for a real run at the 2012.

I do want that back.

Oh, trust me. I didn't have that much respect for him in the first place! She was kind of the last nail in the coffin!

Do you believe everything you hear or read in the media???? I certainly don't. I voted for Obama because I think he is the most capable of the two candidates to turn things around in this country. But I'm really sick of hearing about how Palin spent so much money on clothing. I don't really care..maybe some do, but I don't. Furthermore, I seriously doubt that she went out and purchased that clothing herself; I'm sure it was the McKain campaign organizers who either bought the clothes, or had them brought in, and then paid for them. Once the media starting releasing the $ amount that was spent, those individuals didn't want to look bad, so now THEY are blaming it on Palin. What a bunch of cowards. I don't agree with Palin on many political issues, but I do have a very good impression of her on a personal level. She has mis-spoken during the campaign, yes,; but all of the candidates have done that, McKain, Obama, & Biden. They are all only human, they are not perfect.

I didn't read through the whole thread but we have a VP elect who thought that FDR was POTUS in 1929?:rotfl:
...don't forget that he also went on TV back then too to talk to the American in his "fireside" chats.

I guess since you did not read through the whole tread you may have missed my post on page 7 of this thread.

I will repete it.......

Just an FYI:

All of the canidates have made gaffes at one time or another.
Even McCain.

Here are just a couple of his:

Sen. John McCainsaid “Iraq” when he apparently meant “Afghanistan”, adding to a string of mixed-up word choices that is giving ammunition to the opposition.

McCain has also mistaken "Somalia" for "Sudan," and even football’s Green Bay Packers for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

----------------------------------------

I tend to blame a lot of these gaffes on jet lag.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the repeat.

SO when Mr Biden said the Illinois senator was not yet ready to be president and that "the presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training", that was due to jet lag?

Last May, BO claimed that tornadoes in Kansas killed a whopping 10,000 people “In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” The actual death toll: 12.

“There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Ala., because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.”

“Then, there’s the copy of Life magazine that Obama presents as his racial awakening at age 9. In it, he wrote, was an article and two accompanying photographs of an African-American man physically and mentally scarred by his efforts to lighten his skin. In fact, the Life article and the photographs don’t exist, say the magazine’s own historians.”

And in perhaps the most seriously troubling set of gaffes of them all, Obama told a Portland crowd over the weekend that Iran doesn’t “pose a serious threat to us” — cluelessly arguing that “tiny countries” with small defense budgets can’t do us harm — and then promptly flip-flopped the next day, claiming, “I’ve made it clear for years that the threat from Iran is grave.”

Obama Says The U.S. Senate Banking Committee Is "My Committee." Obama: "Just this past week, we passed out of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, which is my committee, a bill…" (Obama Press Conference, Sderot, Israel, July 23, 2008)
Obama Is Not A Member Of The U.S. Senate Committee On Banking, Housing, And Urban Affairs. (U.S. Senate Committee On Banking, Housing, And Urban Affairs Website, banking.senate.gov, Accessed 7/23/08)

"I think that DOMA, the Defense Against Marriage Act, was, was a (sic) unnecessary imposition on what had been the traditional rules governing marriage and how states interact on the issues of marriage." – Barack Obama, referring to the Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA), 7/1/08

Are these all due to jet lag? It reminds me of Huey Long, the infamous Louisiana politician ( with socialist leanings, BTW). He would cross the state, speak with a Cajun accent in the Southern part of the state, and then switch to an accent with a twang in the Northern part of the state. He tried to be all things to all people and would twist the truth.

Good grief what will you democrats do without SP to tear down?:rolleyes1 Funny how these are the same people who become so offended when anyone says something about "the one".

Thanks for the repeat.

SO when Mr Biden said the Illinois senator was not yet ready to be president and that "the presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training", that was due to jet lag?......

.

You know I could come back with just as many McCain misspeaks....including:
"Across this country this is the agenda I have set before my fellow prisoners," McCain declared. (In the prepared remarks he was supposed to say "fellow citizens." )

They are just that ....misspeaks, jet lag, mometary lapses, pulling the wrong file out of PFC stored in our brains, whatever you wish to call them.

To me they are not a big deal.

You see I have dyslexia so misspeaks happen to me quite often. That PDF in my brain will misfuction time to time like the time when I about 9 years and I was traveling in the car with my family. I was explaining to them my theory of why cars were not built to last and I told my parents...."it is because they want you to buy a PICKLE every year. " PICKLE ? Why did I say PICKLE instead of CAR?

Well, just at the time I was about to say the word CAR ... I saw a big billboard with a big jar of Aunt Jane's PICKLES on it.

So yeah maybe I am more tolerant of other people's misspeaks because I have been there many times myself.

On this subject I guess I will just agree to disagree.

JMHO

Excellent go with that.....I just figured out it would be perfect for you guys to throw you support behind Palin!!....it can only help give Obama 4 more years.

:rotfl2: :confused3 :rotfl2: :confused3

Whatever makes you feel good my friend. You obviously are just looking for hate today. Totally blinded by hate. I'll say an extra prayer for you tonight.

Typo my friend...but you can call me stupid if you want......I firmly believe that she has no idea Africa is a continent, I think we are hearing from staffers that where appalled by her appointment and the position they where put in. The Couric interviews where frightening....But if your political leanings want to make you believe she is qualified, by all means support her....Please let me know if my grammar is correct...

I certainly understand that "knoe" was a typo. And I told you back on page 1 how you could fix it. You apparently have chosen not to.

I bet Obama would love to edit his 57 states comment, which is recorded for posterity and can be found on youtube. (And no, I do not believe that Obama thinks there are more than 50 states; it was a slip of the tongue).

I bet Palin would love to edit WHATEVER it was she said (apparently not recorded or even quoted anywhere) that made some anonymous person claim that she believes that Africa is a country.

QUOTE=DawnCt1;28589942]Actually there were many more than "3 to 5 gaffes", but what really concerns me is what Obama didn't know...during the debate with Charles Gibson. He plans on raising the capital gains tax, not because it will raise more revenue, because Gibson clearly pointed out and demonstrated that raising the capital tax will reduce revenues to the treasury; BUT because its "the fair thing to do". His redistribution comments as well indicated the way in which the economy works. Those two issues alone are extremely concerning.[/QUOTE]

LOLOL

Clinton administration... higher Cap Gains Tax

Booming economy
Booming stock market
Surpluses

Bus administration... lower Cap Gains Tax

Recession economy
Lowest stock market since the 90s
Record deficits

Yeah... lowering the Cap Gains tax helped the economy. :rotfl:

I sure hope Obama has finally paid his campaign workers that were mad and wondering if they would get their pay, A loaded Visa card. Hmmmmm.....does that mean they don't have to claim it on their taxes as income?
