Hey, guys! My husband and I just put down new Pergo floors in our living room (about 2 weeks ago) and sealed them with the Silicone as suggested. The silicone, as expected, got on some of the planks and came off when using straight vinegar (as directed by Pergo). Here's my problem now-you can see every smudge where the silicone was applied, every place the vinegar was used, and the floor now has a dull film. I have tried the floor cleaner mix they suggested (vinegar and water mixed and then then ammonia mixture) and it hasn't helped. I read somewhere to use rubbing alcohol. I'm at my wit's end!!!! :confused3 Can any of you shed some light on this and suggest something that may work?? My floors look horrible! Thanks for any help you can offer!

OP, may i ask why you sealed your pergo with silicone? what was pergo's reasoning for this? we put down pergo in our house when we built it 13 years ago, and there was no silicone involved. please, don't get me wrong, i'm not criticizing, i just don't understand the process, which, has apparently evolved since our flooring was installed.

okay, i'm reading this again...do they use silicone now instead of glue? our boards were glued together.
