Perfectly Princess Tea Party

Let me just say, for anyone who is considering this but is leary of the price, DO IT!!!!!!! It was soooooo worth it. Really, the highlight of our trip. A couple of times I was brought to tears (like when Rosepetal sang "Oh Baby of Mine" and had all the little girls rock their dolls, I am getting teary eyed just typing it!) I have never in my life seen DD so happy. She was just mesmerized by Rosepetal and, of course, by Aurora. The party was so elegant. The food was good but scant, but it didn't matter. I wouldn't have cared if they had served no food at all. The cake, however, was wonderful. The princess and Rospetal made the girls feel so special. Nobody was in a rush (in contrast to the Princess Storybook dinner at Norway.) The girls were showered with rosepetals, flowers, gifts, and even a thank you note from Aurora. If I had to do it all over again, I would skip all the character meals in leiu of the tea party. I have pics that I will post later. It was just magical.

I have read a lot about it but was just wondering how hard it was to get into. My daughter, 6 would love it I'm sure. Do you know exactly how expensive it was? Sorry about being so nosy! Also, I am taking my MIL, could 2 adults and 1 child go? How long does it last? What all do they get in gifts?

I treated my DIL and two grandchildren to the tea party in January. It was expensive, but I do not remember the cost. It was wonderful, the 3 yr old still talks about it. If you can afford it, do it, you or your princess will not be disappointed. FYI, 95% of the girls were dressed in princess costumes.

OMG, I just got teary eyed reading that and imagining my DD there!! We have CRT and PSB booked for July...but I might reconsider PSB in favor of this one...

Thanks for the great review! I was seriously thinking about it for our upcoming trip. DD will be 4 and I think she would really enjoy it. Now I am sold on doing it! It's just a question of when I want to do it. Maybe I should book it for when MIL is still still along. We can make it a "girls" event! Who knows it might be a good bonding experience. That is if I don't show her how much it costs. ;

We are going to WDW for our DD's birthday in December, she will be turning 7 and I have been considering this for her. Do you think she would be too old? I can't wait to see your pictures, I am so glad you enjoyed it!

My DW is taking my 7 year old princess on June 8th, cost is $213.00, but everything I have read about it has been great, no negatives (except maybe being a little pricey) but we are looking forward to it the most out of all our PS's. I believe an extra adult could go for around $65.00, extra child was more than that but they get a doll and several other gifts.. Sounds like a memory to last a lifetime.

In January my DH, DD (3.5yrs), and I did the princess tea party and I must agree it was worth every penny. For an extra adult the cost is $65 and for an extra child the cost is $135. We will be booking again for September.

Wow it sounds like an amazing event for a Little girl, when we went to Disney in early May all the Teas were booked, but it is on my definite can't miss for next time!!! What were the average ages there?

My daughter (17) went as the adult and took her cousin (4) while I took the other cousin to the pirate cruise. They had a wonderful time and still talk about it and look at the pictures (they went last July). I debated about the price too as I knew that lunch would be lost on them (we ate elsewhere afterwards - they just niblled on what was offered) but the whole rest of the experience was so totally awesome for them. I am so glad they got to do it.

I had voiced this concern in a previous post. My niece will be 8, almost 9 when we go in November and was told that it was well worth it for her age. My boys remember very little from when they were 6 and 8, especially the time my little one was 6, that I think at her age she will probably really remember it and it will be something she treasures doing with her aunt. (at least I HOPE so!!!)

You could always take your 10 year old as an "extra" person with you, to enjoy everything, but not exactly "the same" as the other girls. She could still wear a pretty dress, etc. My niece is going to be in a wedding in October and be a flower girl. The dress is white, but very simple and elegant. I think that might be very pretty for her, so I might just use that one instead of buying a Disney princess one that she will probably not wear again.

I am considering taking my dd8 this July. Do you think it would be ok for an 8 year old. Would it be ok for her to wear just a really pretty dress instead of a princess costume. My husband also would love to attend with us. Ha anyone ever seen daddy's with the girls. I don't want him to feel uncomfortable. Does anyone have any of info on the tea. What types of gifts do the girls receive???

Sorry it has taken me so long to answer questions...my internet has been down for 2 days! It is hard to say wheter an 8 year old would be too old. I guess it would depend on her love of the princess thing. There was an 8 year old girl at our table and she seemed to really enjoy it. Most girls there were in the 5-7 range. About 90% were dressed in princess costumes. A few girls had on fancy party type dresses and they fit in just fine. There were a couple dressed in park attire and they did look a little out of place, though. The price was $200 for myself and dd, plus an extra $65 for my mom. I am so glad she went with us- it was a great bonding experience. I think there was one father there, and he had a great time, too. Rosepetal even grabbed the video camera he was using and filmed him! While my dad and DH didn't attend, they did have a wonderful breakfast at another restaurant in the GF while we went to the party. The tea party is in a semi-open area of the lobby, so they were able to watch what was going on after their breakfast without having to pay the money. I noticed lots of fathers just observing from the lobby. We did also do PSB this trip. While DD did really enjoy it, it seemed the princess were much more rushed. They were only at the table for a minute for an autograph and a photo before they rushed over to the next table. At the tea, Rosepetal and Aurora spent so much time with the girls at the tables and in the middle of the restaurant just singing and dancing. It was truly priceless! I am going to try to post pics now.

in Dec '05 and we are planning a celebration trip too in Feb 2006! I thought it was so cool that I saw you are doing/or did the same thing! You can empathize with me of how much we deserve a dream vacation after suffering through Nursing School! I also feel my family deserves a nice reward for dealing with it these past three years, so I'm surprising the kids with the trip! My husband didn't give me grief when I approached him about the trip as I think he even knows I deserve it--and much more!!!

I am starting a nurse externship in June in Labor and Delivery. How do you like it so far?

Well, nice "talking" with you. Like I said, I was so excited when I saw your tag about celebrating NS grad. at DW that I had to write!

p.s. I am considering this for my daughter, but I'm not sure. She is a little shy in crowds and I don't know how she'd participate. How many people are there?

I work at the Grand and I can happily say that even the 9-11 year old little girls seem to enjoy this experience immensely as well.

I have seen Dad's go with their little girls and enjoy it, it is not very uncommon for there to be more than 1 adult per child. Yesterdays guest counts had 29 adults and 23 children so we had more adults than children. It was booked full.

Good news! The Grand is running a test in June so the Tea is being offered all 7 days a week instead of the usual 5. Normally they take off tuesday and saturday.
