It will be my DH & I alone for our 6th anniversary in June. We are staying at the Contemporary and will eat at the California Grill (first time:hyper: ). What other places can you suggest for just the two of us that are nice, have good food, but not too stuffy (no V&A). We would love to try someplace different!

We have done:
Kona Kaffe, Whispering Canyon, Park Fare, Crystal Palace, Trails End, Liberty Tree, Chef Mickeys, 50's, Sci Fi, Chefs De France, Cape May, Ohana, Le Cellier, Big River Grill (UGH), Biergarten, Tony's, Boma, Coral Reef and most counter places.

What can you all suggest to make it a wonderful trip?

Thanks!

I noticed you didn't mention any of the Boardwalk area restaurants (except Big River Grill, and we won't count that one, lol). My DH and I really enjoy that area. Some good choices are Spoodles and Flying Fish at the Boardwalk, Yachtsman Steakhouse at the YC, or Blue Zoo at the Dolphin. You and DH can enjoy a stroll along the Boardwalk after dinner at one of these restaurants. And a visit to Jellyrolls is always a lot of fun too!

Palio at the Swan!! It's Italian - delicious! And there are strolling musicians! But it's not too stuffy - we've gone there in nice shorts and shirts, right from the parks.

I second most of the other suggestions, and also encourage you to give V&A's a try if the budget allows. There's a difference between elegant and stuffy, and IMO V&A's falls on the right side of that comparison. :) In fact, when I went a couple years ago, there was some "tension" at my table, and our Albert told us a seemingly neverending string of silly jokes to lighten the mood.

What no Cinderella's Royal Table? I only had a sandwich there, it was huge and good. But the idea of eating at the castle was awesome. We did this on our first anniversary trip. It was very romantic, even with the sandwich in the middle of the day.

Jiko's at AKL and Palio's at The Swan are my recommendations. Both have great food and service, in addition I think they have a little more intimate atmosphere for 'couple's' dining. Enjoy!

The food at Spoodles was very good. Also, I've heard great things about Jiko, but won't be going there until my trip next April.

My Wife and I ate at Fulton's Crab House for our third anniversary last October. They treated us very special. At the end of our dinner the waiter came out with a big piece of chocolate cake with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate complements of the chef!

Congrats...no better place to spend an anniversary than disney.

Hubby and I love these things together..

Jiko, Artist Point, Flying Fish, Alfredo's, San Angel Inn (lunch), Askerhaus, Liberty Tree Tavern (wonderful lunch menu)

We also like to get a big order of fresh french fries from the cart by splash mtn in MK, take them over, grab a turkey leg and a blueberry drink at the lunching pad..and share that. Then, for dessert, we head up front to the bakery/candy store and get a fresh caramel apple.

In AK...we love to get the Rotissiere chicken at Tuskerhouse, or if they ever offer it again, the special African Chicken, grab a safari Amber and enjoy it out at the little bar.

hands down - Jiko.
They bent over backwards for us when we were there on our HM...gave us a table by the windows that overlooked the little creek outside.

and the food was amazing!!!

then you can stroll around the resort and check it out...it's much "darker" and more 'intimate' then some of the other resorts...that's why I love it so much.

What about Narcosses?

DH and I have a reservation there for our "Adult Night" in a little over a week (geez.....will it ever get here?) I've never eaten here before, but it was recommended.

What do you think?

I think Narcoossee's can be very romantic. Beautiful setting. It can be noisy though. For a more quiet atmosphere go early (or hope there's not a convention at GF or a lot of overly fatigued children if you dine late).

I agree that V&A is not stuffy at all...just elegant with fantastic cuisine and service.

Agree with Citricos, Artist Point, and Jiko.

Bistro de Paris is romantic, too, to me.
