Is there one in your mind? I'm just having a heck of a time this time around choosing and was hoping for some input. We went in mid-November last trip and it was really nice! The weather was the best. We threw a sweatshirt on in the morning, shed that by the afternoon and then threw it back on in the evening. The afternoon was around 80 or so, so my kiddos could swim. The parks and lines weren't bad at all. A friend went in November last year, same timeframe, and said it was cold! Eeek. I watched that Travel Channel special last week and it said value seasons (low prices, low crowds) were Jan-Feb, Aug-Sept and after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. Would you choose one of these timeframes over mid-November? Would there be another time you would recommend to me? We really want to stay away from crowds and be able to swim. Am I dreaming here? ;) School being in session isn't a factor.

We went last year the last week of February. It was heaven! Temps near 80 each day. No rain. No bugs. The kids swam. Almost NO WAIT on any rides except Soarin' (that was about 40 min, with Fastpass). No waits at counter service. We must have said 1,000 times: "This is amazing. No waits at all. How can we ever come here in the summer again?" I'd count that among the best times, especially since we traveled there from a cold Midwestern state!

Really? That sounds awesome! I can't believe that February is so warm. Is that typical? This excites me! (We're from cold MN!) ;)

Went the second week in December for our first trip. It worked out so well, that's when we're going back this year. We figured on jean and tee shirt weather and ended up having to scour the park for shorts. It was SO hot. Also, not sure if they all are, but we stayed at Port Orleans and the pool was heated. So, even if it hadn't been warm, we could still swim.

We like going in early May best. The temps are in the low 80's, but no humidity. Spring break is over, yet schools aren't out yet for the summer, so crowds are not bad at all.

well we go every couple of years on our spring break which ranges between February and March. February we've found tends to get chilly, but March is nice.

That being said, I went with DW two years ago in OCTOBER and let me tell you, I wish we could always go this time of year!!
Not only was the weather FANTASTIC, but you have access to the Hallwoeen Celebrations at both WDW and Universal *AND* the Epcot Food and Wine Festival!!! Just an incredible time!!

I'm just having a heck of a time choosing. I want to go when it's cold here in MN so it really feels like a vacation. But, I'd love low crowds and have it warm enough to swim. I'm too picky I think! LOL!

One thing to be aware of in October is the weather can be extremely hot and humid (it was upper 80s to low 90s last year the first week of October, and rained nearly every day). This is hurricane season, as well, so you're likely to get some rain (and maybe a hurricane!). We had several days with just one or two rain showers, one day where it rained on and off all day, and one day where we had a torrential downpour.

October is fun because of MNSSHP and the F&W Festival, though. Crowds are pretty light. Just realize that it's often very hot and humid -- and rainy! (I'm interested in replies to this post because we always go in October, and I'm trying to find a time of year that's not so hot!)

Just went in February, and thought it was the best weather ever! Perfect time for a vacation :) . Avoid President's Day week, if possible, though.

These are the times I have found to be less crazy --

- January - early February - avoiding the MLK and President's day holidays. In early February, it was a little too cold to swim (for me), but there were plenty of folks doing it. Nice touring weather.

May - especially early in the month.

June - early in the month, but getting more busy

August - late in the month, but hurricanes are a threat :guilty:

November - avoiding the holiday, but the Food & Wine Festival is busy; it was very humid when we went in early November a few years back, but the Osborne lights were up at MGM!

December - early December used to be the best time. We were there last year and the crowds were horrendous. Hopefully, it was a fluke! :scared1:

Gee thats weird. We have gone 3 times now the same week of October two years ago the cruise and then the parks October 8th - 18th? No rain at all except a morning sprinkle.Oh god, now when we go this year it'll pour......

I'm hoping October is good, because that's what we have booked. Looks like nice weather, not too crowded.

We were in T-shirts and shorts on New Year's Eve a few years ago, but in jackets two days later...it really fluctuates in the winter!

We booked early October b/c I read on the Disney website that it was a slow time. But then we found out about the Food and Wine festival, and the MNNSHP! And just last week someone informed us that it's hurricane season! Ooops! Oh well, we will pack our ponchos and have a great time anyway. Just please let there be one good day for my dh and his dad to go golfing! Speaking of which, I need to do my own thread...

You will have a great time whenever you go!

Every year I have gone (3 so far), my DBF and I have gone for the week of Valentine's Day. Driving in from NJ is absolutely amazing. The weather is 70s and even in the 80s, perfect for swimming. I have never been there any other time of year and of course, I will be going the same time (8th thru
20th) for 2009!!

I know I'm late but wanted to thank you for all of your replies! I have a ton to think about trying to choose a date.

We went the 2nd week of Nov. one year and loved the weather but the parks close early and we couldn't really swim. Now I have school to deal with and it look like we'll have to go in June! Tell me what week is best. Looking at the 3rd week - not this year but in the future.

Thanks.

We just got back from WDW last week and the temps were high 80's and sunny. It was nice because Epcot has the flower and garden festival and it was neat seeing character topiaries! The crowds were also not that bad either, for all the major attractions I think we got one FP. It was just easier to do the line then worry about coming back for FP.

It's interesting about what people are saying about December. DH and I are going back over Christmas in '09 and it's definetely going to be a challenge packing with the checked bag restrictions.

I had an absolute perfect time when we went for our honeymoon November 12-17th! The weather was great (it was a little cold the last day we were there so we bought some WDW sweatshirts ;)), and we literally walked onto every ride there. I think we waited 15 minutes at the Snow White ride, but that was about it. No rain, beautiful blue skies, and far less people.

Good luck!! :)

I think right after Thanksgiving, most of WDW will be decorated for the Christmas season, which is amazing. Go early Dec and enjoy no crowds, good weather, and great decorations.
