Perfect Disney Bag

I just went thru this thread for the first time and have to say that DMGUERTS ...you are amazing...great pictures and bags!! Now that being said....for all of you without children the secret is NO bags!!! LOL really!!! My DH loves his cargo shorts, so I can stick a few small items in his big pockets. Over the years I've given up on makeup in hot Florida sun and tie my hair back -- so other than the small sun block lotion (in hubby's pocket) I'm pretty good to go. Some cash in the pocket...key to the work charging...and we walk right in without a bag check. Love it. :cool1:

LOL Thanks. :) I appreciate the compliment. Some day I will go without kids... if only I could talk DH into cargo shorts. :rotfl2:

If I didn't have kids I would wear my VB hipster in Purple Punch. I love it. But since I have kids I use my VB large backpack. It holds water, sunscreen, wallet and a change of clothes for each kid. I like a backpack though.

Hi,

We've only been to Disney 2x and each time I've tried to find the "perfect bag". I ended up getting DD and I each a Heys Travelmate for our spring break trip last year and they were great! This time we are going for 10 days in June and I am thinking we might need a bit more space for extra water and ponchos for the possible rain showers. The weather was perfect last spring - no rain and not hot enough to require tons of water, but I am anticipating heat and more chances of rain in June.

While looking at options, I came across those little stuffable backpacks and thought it might be a good option - when not needed, it could fit into my Travelmate but would be available as needed for extra water bottles and wet ponchos. I doubt it would be comfy enough for a heavy load all day but if it was just used to supplement as needed it may not be too bad. :confused3 What do you bag experts think? Here is an example: http://www.reusablebags.com/store/reisenthel-mini-maxi-backpack-p-721.html

Thumbs up or down on this idea?

Thanks!

Keri

My VB Hipster in Pink Elephants just arrived and I am :lovestruc:

Thanks to all of the Hipster enthusiasts for letting me know about this bag!

Could not agree more! DH and I visited DL in July sans child and while my camera was out of commission for a whole day (long story....), I went bagless. It was HEAVEN!! Skip right by that bag check!

Now...when DS4 is with us, I'm a pack mule: Baggallini and camera bag (which usually lives in the bottom compartment of the stroller).

I am trying to figure out what I need to take for our Feb. trip. I have a 3 yo and 1 yo, so I will have a diaper bag. Will I need a smaller bag too? I was thinking I may need one for tickets and such???? Is there a good diaper bag for disney? Would love any tips. :)

I just got a VB Hipster and a Skip Hop Sparkle diaper bag. I hope they work well, both seem very functional! We are also going in February!

I have a couple of bags to chose from:

I have the baggallini messenger sling bag in pink.

I like the size, but I found the bag heavy and hot on my neck. I like that it holds the water bottle on the side. I will bring it and probably keep it in the rental car rather than bringing it into the parks.

I have a VB mini-hipster.

I like that it is a little smaller. I'm concerned that they thin strap will hurt my neck.

I have the VB hipster.

This is my favorite bag. The soft strap is comfortable and stay where I put it. I've never had a problem with the adjustable part slipping. The bag fits everything I need. It can get sweaty in the Florida heat.

I might leave the mini hipster at home. We'll see. I suppose I should just choose between the hipster and the baggallini. I prefer the hipster, but I feel bad buying the baggallini and not using it.:sad2:

Generally I prefer to go without a bag. DH can usually hold the cards in his pockets. However, he also needs to take his diabetes stuff, I like to take the camera and he likes bringing a little monocular for looking at far away stuff. I guess I'd better bring a bag. ;)

I also have the bagillini bag.

I have a mini-hipster, and I love it for quick shopping trips. I looked at the hipster, and I think the mailbag is actually better for me for WDW. The opening is bigger, there are more pockets, and I love a flap. Under the flap, there's a pocket that has slots for ID, credit cards, whatever. Here's a link, although you can't get much out of the picture because the purse is so dark - http://www.verabradley.com/catalog/search.cmd?form_state=searchForm&keyword=mailbag&x=0&y=0
