The 2002 Perennial Plant of the Year is Phlox, "David".

I have a perfect spot for this and am seriously thinking of putting some in.

Does anyone else have it? Are you happy with it? Is it as fragrant as they say?

Perennial of the Year 2002 :)

No I have not seen this but I looked at a Plhox today called Carolina... It to was a tall phlox like this as well... No flower yet so I could not smell it...

I have something that looks just like htis...but I didn't think it was phlox.

I have it along with a lot of other varieties. When they bloom a whole big bed of it blooms and the neighbors across the street and 300 feet away say they can smell it. I love phlox. It does have a tendency to get mildew but that is wiped out pretty readily with application of a fungicide. There is a home remedy for mildew, but I can never remember what it is and I guess I am too lazy. Get some David and some red ones (Starfire) and some pink and some varigated ones and some blue ones. You will love it.
