Perception=Reality

What you perceive is not always real.

But what if everyone perceived the same thing, with no doubt at all? would it become real then, since, in that case that belief does become their reality?

I believe nothing is reality. I can go on for hours about my physcobabble beliefs.

I think that we perceive everything to be how it is. I know that probably makes no sense, but it's my thoughts.

Nothing is really real.

I love discussing philosophy. This is one of my favorite topics.

I believe reality is subjective, and it is changeable.

One of my favorite topics too. My family always groan when I want to talk about it.

Reality is always changing. It is hard to explain to someone.

We made this world, I believe, so we are always changing it.

There is an old phrase, "you are the main character in your own life story"

I think that means that you create your reality. you choose what you live by, and you affect everything around you with those choices.

Uh I think that all the time. Also,

I will look at people and think, 'Am I the only real one in this world? Is the world just about me?' I know it seems a little weird but I do.

I also wonder if different people feel things differently, is their pain different? Are their emotions different?

Its hard to realize that there are so many individual minds around you. And some of them seem so fake, that they're just there to upset you. And you wonder if they're really feeling everything you are. which, logically, they must, but if everyone is feeling so strongly, wouldn't everyone just be falling apart, like you are? and if everyone is feeling that way, how do they all keep so quiet about it.

You don't even know how much I agree.

I just can't get the concept that everyone is the same, but different. It boggles me.

a human can only use 11% of their brain at any given time. sometimes, in philosophical discussion, I max out. Its like, I'm about to seriously finally understand it all. and then I kind of just can't think anymore. I can't take what I'm thinking about any further. and then it all just slides away

..so all this talk is reminding me of the movie: "the truman show".
anyway. in my lit and the arts class we learned of this philosopher, saint anselm who thought that anything you thought of, had to be real. so of course someone says "well, im thinking about a pink and purple polka-dot dinosaur. thats not real." how do we know it isnt? just because we cant see it, doesnt mean it isnt real. and who said it had to exist in our time and in our dimension?
im pretty sure if you closed your eyes right now and pictured the most perfect beach imaginable, you could scour the earth and someday find it. i guess, whatever you think of, has to be real. because you make it that way.

ive got a lot of stuff from that class you guys would be interested in. i should go find it..xD

I've heard of that. There is also the 10th dimension theory that states there there is a dimension where every single possible thing is happening. And, thats a lot. everything from did you eat breakfast this morning to, where you even born?

Oh me too. Just when I think I am about to get it. To understand. I just blank out, and forget everything. Don't understand it at all. It's weird.

My mom thinks it's because the great magical Doctor that makes our world go around, has erased it because he doesn't want us to understand.

She is really into this stuff, not my other family though. :guilty:

But who's saying that what we perceive something as, Is the same as how someone else perceives the same thing.

Religous people, just because they believe God is true, makes it true. But is it? I don't really think so, but they do.

Who knows :confused3

Humans don't know anything, but what we've forced ourselves to know. What we've congured up out of the back of our minds. We know nothing.

the only true wisdom is to know you know nothing.

Wow. This is such a cool discussion. I'll post after my mom goes on for a quick second... I'm amazed, truly amazed.
