Pepper market question

I was looking at the menu for pepper market and noticing the prices are much higher than what they are at some of the other food courts-like 9.50 for a burger at PM and 6.00 for one at Pop.I know that there is the 10% added on top of that too.Are the portions the same as the other food courts? Is the quality better?I know I had seen some people complain about PM but I thought it was because of the surcharge-I didn't relize the prices were higher to begin with.We are not doing the dinning plan this time so I am trying to budget for food.TIA

I dont know if this still holds true but from what I remember the PM isnt owned by Disney- Its owned by another company- maybe this is the reason for the price differences :confused3

Many past visitors to CSR say the food is better, travel guides also note this but both travel guides I own note the increased expense is not worth the value if you are budget minded at all. Obviously a personal choice though. I looked into staying there and realized the additional cost over 8 days would add up to a significant amount I could spend elsewhere. Its not your standard resort food court thought, you'll get better fare overall.

PM at CSR is -- if you must do a food court -- the best one on property.
Meals are made to order, food is fresh and there is more variety. All star-type food court is comprable (IMHO) to McDonalds/fast food joints. PMs food is out of that league. Worth it!!!!!

Good to know.

We'll be staying at CSR w/ 'free' dining, so I'm not too worried about cost and pleased to learn we can expect some decent food!

My DH loves the double cheeseburgers at Pop-he would wait to get back to the hotel to eat instead of eating at the park so as long as the food is good he will be happy.I don't mind paying extra if it is worth it-and if portions are large we could probably share sometimes too.It just seemed a little more steap than usually. We are planning on staying around the hotel more than normal because we are going for July 4 and expect it to be hot and crowded so we will stay around the pool more which means more meals there too.

Ya, this is my problem with it too OP. If I wanted nicer food there are lots of places, but your resort is where you are a lot so you're kinda handcuffed by it if they jack the prices there, even if the food is better. I don't think its coincidence this food court is in a resort with no other food court as an option.

PM is a great place to dine. The amt of food you get coincides very well with the price of food. AKA go with a very hungry belly because they give to a lot of food. If you get a margarita beware... they are the best and full of alcohol. So one is enough to make you a little lite headed.
There are food pods such as American that offers a menu of american food. A Mexican pod and a dessert pod. What you do is take a dinning ticket that the host gives you when you are seated. And you go up and look over the menu's that are hanging up at eat food station. Once you have decided what you would like to eat you tell the chef he then will prepare the food in front of you. A few of them have a great since of humor and will talk to you as the cook. Once you food is done you will had him you ticket. He will stamp it according to what you ordered. Hang on to this because you must present it to the cashier when you leave.
Try to avoid the very crowded times. We have gone late on a Saturday at like 7pm and had no problem if you go at 5pm or 6 you can expect a wait to get a table. Or go for lunch it is less crowded. I believe the serve breakfast too.
This is a very neat experience so go and enjoy it. :woohoo:

We loved Pepper Market and we thought the portions were big. A nice varity of food. Kids loved the pizza. They also had fresh fruit cups everyday.

someone had suggested Pepper Market to us last fall on our trip. My husband and I loved it with a capital LOVE. I just wish we had tried it sooner. We would have made a few more trips there. The choices are what sealed it for me plus the food is really good. The rib-eye was awesome. We were in the dining pland so it was a great deal being a counter service.

We've stayed at CSR six times (soon to be seven) and have eaten at the Pepper Market several times. The food portions are bigger (I've had the fettucine and can never finish it..and can't share with my husband because he does not liek fettucine, same with the ceasar salad and other items). We have never had a bad meal. The added 10% can be avoided if you ask for a to go ticket and take your food and eat outside at one of the tables by the lake or under the umbrellas. And the previous poster who said the Pepper Market is not owned by Disney is correct.

The portions are huuuuuuuge! I got :lmao: a taco salad as big as my head. Would have been plenty for two.

If you're on the dining plan, you won't find a better CS spot than the Pepper Market. Huge portions, great choices and tasty food. Lunch/Dinner Menu

Yummmmmmm-how was the chinese food it looks good-is it like real chinese restaurant or more like mall chinese-I like both just wondering.I had the lo mein from Pop last year but didn't care for that.

You do have other food options besides PM. Cafe Rix just opened last Fall and they have a few sandwiches (paninis) and light items. Also, there's a grill at the pool where you can get cheeseburgers and like fare.

We enjoy the PM and if you're on the DDP, it's a good value. You can get a steak for a CS credit. I had a great quesadilla there last time. We don't think the 10% service charge is too much to ask for getting seated, having our drinks brought to us, using cloth napkins and actual silverware (not plastic), and not having to clear the table. :)
