Pepper Market and dining plan question

Hi,

I know Pepper Market is on the dining plan. It is listed as being for snacks and counter service. Are you limited on what you can order on the counter service? For instance, they have an $18 Rib-eye. Can you really get this and only use one CS credit? It seems too good to be true.

Good question. I would like to know the answer to this too. Pepper Market has been one of our favorite places in the past and I hate to think that this has been changed!

We ate at the Pepper Market in August using the dining plan. We all ordered from different stations with no problems. (fajitas, pasta, quesadillas and more) We all got dessert from the bakery station and found out when we got to the register that only certain items were included with the dining plan. No mention was made of this at the station. We had ours to go, so we went back and switched our desserts. My in-laws kept theirs and were charged a small amount. Nothing was mentioned by our waiter regarding any exclusions regarding the entrees. This meal was a big hit with our group and definately a bargain since it only used a counter service credit. I would definately reccomend using a counter service credit here. :earsboy:

My husband got the steak there and yes it was only 1 CS. They were super picky about what desserts your could get on the plan though.

<snicker> This just kind of makes me chuckle because this illustrates perfectly the apparent lack of logic sometimes that goes into Dining Plan decisions by some of these restaurants.

It's been discussed by many DIS'ers here that the Pepper Market is only allowing either a cookie or muffin and possibly one other similar item as their dessert choices, yet they will allow an $18 steak as a CS selection!!!

Okey dokey!

You have to be kidding? They are oly allowing certain desserts?

The $18 rib eye isn't that good. I too was excited about the prospect of getting an "expensive" item. I found the meat quality wasn't high (very fatty, and not a lot of taste). However, I am picky about my steak.

It is weird, they give a lot of food for their entrees, but are very cheap on the desserts and snacks. They do need to publicize the exclusions better - the documents given out at CSR's front desk don't mention anything about dessert exclusions.

Every report that I've read here by members about Pepper Market has pretty much said the same thing about the desserts.

I agree! I'll be staying at CSR in December on the Dining Plan, so I'll see how I'll feel like handling it then I guess! ;)

When we were there my DB had the prime rib (so good) and I had the wet burrito (delish!) and had no problems with the dining plan. For dessert, we each had a cookie a brownie and a churro (3 counted for 1).

We were only allowed cookies or muffins a week ago Saturday for dessert. No other limits. The muffins were quite good and we saved them for breakfast. The were out of the prime rib, so we ordered some other steak, tuna, stir-fry and some TexMex dishes. We got bottles of juice for our drinks.

You can get the steak and they are picky about the desserts which I found to be ridiculous - you can get an $18.95 entree but a muffin or cookie for dessert? Yet down the road at the All-Stars you can get a banana split for your dessert?? I honestly wouldn't have had a problem with the dessert if someone ANYONE had told us BEFORE we ate two regular desserts that we really were too full to eat but did anyway because it was good and after all it was included.

On another note - does anyone know if they have restricted the desserts with Q&C vouchers too?

I was there last month and heard the refrain "On the plan you get a cookie or a muffin" a million times -- first to me, then to people coming up as I was there to get my cookie/muffin ;)

I will say the cookies are good, though.

We had a couple of breakfast counter service meals there, and a couple of lunches. Worked out great to stop by, take lunch to go, go back to the room and stretch out and eat and put our feet up. Maximized the relaxation time before heading out to the park/dinner.

They give you a ton of hot wings for 9.99 -- excellent value for 1 CS.
