People who sit on multiple ADRs

I just wanted to ask those of you who have booked multiple ADRs for the same night to please try to make your decisions asap and cancel any duplicates. It is getting very difficult for people to book anything at all -- even for Sept trips.

I just called and let all of my ADRs go except the ones I KNOW I will keep and I feel so much better doing so.

Good luck to all of you who are still trying to book. I know it is a pain to have to call every day asking for the same restaurants -- only to hear booked solid!

I know how you feel. I have been calling every single day for 2 weeks to get Mama Melrose for Sept 15th and it is just totally booked up. So frustrating since I know this is not usually one that books up that fast. We were really looking forward to eating there.

yep we couldnt get into the crystal palace for sept 30th (7 adults 2 children)... in the end we have had to split the party and book CP for 3 adults and 2 children whilst the other 4 adults dine at biergarten??? Not ideal but cannot get a reservation for all of us.

I was under the impression that making multiple ADR's for the same meals was frowned upon (severely) and they could cancel all of your meals if you were found out...

I don't know why anyone would do this anyway... I know what I want when I call and that is what I book... we work our touring around our meals, especially now when you have to book meals so early before park schedules are even close to being released.

i know it's so frustrating, we do the same as you mentioned and plan our whole itinery out first and once we know every place we want to eat we then phone up and only book the places we need... i guess some people find it hard to think of others but differences are what make the world go round i suppose

Years ago, I think Disney had a better system. There was a real benefit to staying onsite--I think you could book your ressies much farther in advance at restaurants than people staying offsite. Second, ressies were tied to your resort ressie number. Presumably, that was so multiple ADR's could NOT be made. It seems ridiculous to not get an ADR at a restaurant when you call 4 months out!!

In all the years we are going to Disney it never occurred to me to make multiple ADR for the same meal. We settled on what we wanted and reserved, if we changed our minds, then we called to reserve our alternate and if we were able to get what we wanted, then we cancelled our other ADR at the same time.

I have never not gotten an ADR I wanted... but I call at 7 AM my time, 180 days out.
It used to be 90 days out and that was a bit easier to plan for, though not that much!
Yes it seems ridiculous to try to plan where you want to eat in 6 months, but the way I look at it is if I like the food, why wouldn't I want to eat there on a particular night?
If I was getting up at 6 AM and calling 6 months in advance and couldn't get what I wanted I would be VERY steamed!!

we did have to give our room reservation number as we are staying on-site so i can only assume others have to also.

we were also slightly bemused that we couldnt get a ressie 5 months out... we waited till the 170 day mark so we could make all our adr's on the same phone call but we tried to get the crystal palace for 3 different dates after our first date was not available but nothing... my twin nieces really wanted to go so now they are but i cant be there with them to watch them do the conga with winnie

I didn't think you could double book. I thought when you changed your ressie it automaticall cancelled the previous one. Boy I was wrong. I have been trying to get something for Sept 19th for the Fantasmic show and even at 180 days was booked. You should not be allowed to make more than one ressie at the same time.

I didn't have to give my ressie # when I made my ADR's. I actually didn't have any reservations yet when I made our ADR's as we were waiting for the free dining to open to the public. They just asked for my home phone.

We plan our entire trip and once I know which park we are going to be in, I then go through all the restuarants in that park and at the resorts around the park and then decide which one we are going to eat at.

Hopefully people will start cancelling their double ADR's so others can try and book them.

One for breakfast
One for lunch
One for dinner

I would never think of taking up more reservations than my family could use!

It really could spoil the magic if you had to eat at restaurants that were everyone else's leftovers instead of your own favorites!
Like there are some restaurants I would not eat at for any reason... I have seen other people post that they love them... what would I do if they were all that was left?
How would I get my vegetarian daughter to eat at Biergarten??

double book??? so not fair to others --even B L D on the same day unless you will use ALL of them-----i do book way in advance but have already gotten my DH DS and 2 DDS' favs so i know what to ADR

I'm referring to people who book different restaurants for the same meal time... Example... dinner on Sept. 15, for Tony's in MK @ 6pm AND Coral reef in Epcot @ 6pm, and Boma's in AKL @ 6pm, ALL on Sept. 15, because they don't know where they will be on that day.

I agree that it's incredibly inconsiderate and selfish to book multiple ADRs so you can cover your own butt. To me, the dining experience has become such a big part of a Disney vacation, if you can't plan where you are going to be and choose a restuarant in that area, then you should wing it and take your chances on getting a table and let the chips fall where they may. Other guests trying to make ADRs shouldn't be deprived of a dining experience they wanted (and tried to plan for) just because someone else can't make up their mind or lives in the world of "what ifs".

Disney will cancel your other ADRs and I think ultimately, as it continues to get out of hand, Disney will require credit cards on all ADR's to hold the table and begin charging cancellation fees. Everyone will suffer because of a selfish few.

Many folks disagree on this and there are some are argue there is no harm in it as long as you cancel the ones you know you won't use, that it even opens tables for folks who haven't made ADR's but I still think it's just really rude to do this. JMO

I accidentally booked Biergarten dinner twice on May 19th... this happened because I had been booking different meals on different days and my handwriting is a mess.

I called a few days later to confirm reservation numbers and caught it then - IMMEDIATELY canceling the error.

The thought of people double-booking TS restaurants makes me pretty angry considering the no-show percentage is out of hand... it's out of hand because there are no consequences for no-shows. What if someone blows off their ADRs the first three days of their trip because they changed their minds and didn't bother cancelling? Do they deserve to have their reservations for the next 6-7 days held still? NO!
