Initially my SIL, BIL, DH, and I started planning at trip to SSR for next September. Now it looks as if other family members would like to join us. I know that a 2 bdrm says it sleeps 8 but has anyone ever done that? Especially if it is 8 adults (4 couples) and my infant DS? Don't know if we should look into more or larger accomodations. Any advice would be great.

We stayed there in Jan with me, DH, our two sons (ages 5 and 7), my sister, her husband, my niece (age 7) and my infant nephew. DH and I had the master, the boys slept in the pull out couch in the LR, and my sis and BIL and their kids were in the 2nd BR. That worked out great. But I think that 8 adults would not work well. Just 6 adults would I think would be it, and even then, one couple would not have a lot of privacy. I would think about a GV or separate units.

We had four in a one bedroom and we really wished we could have gotten a two bedroom. I think eight adults in a two bedroom would be very crowded.

You'd have two people in a king bed in one room, two people on the sofabed in the living room, and four people sharing two queen beds in the other bedroom. I don't know how close everyone is, but that sounds a little cramped to me.

If you have enough points, I'd consider at least a 2B and a Studio to give you all a little more space.

2BR+Studio sounds like the best idea to me. The two bedroom is big enough for everyone to eat and relax together and the extra studio would give everyone some privacy although one couple will be on the pull-out sofa in the living room.

Back in April of this year my family stayed in a 2 Bd rm villa @ SSR...
I know it sounds like over kill but felt my mother-in-law really needed her own bed not a pull out.
My wife and I stayed in the master bd rm our daughter and mother-in-law
in the extra bd rm...we never used the pull out although we had more than enough room for all of us and could easily put a couple of people on the pull out.
SIX people is great for a 2 bd rm...EIGHT is a stretch...
I feel a 2-bdrm + 1 studio should suffice.
Good Luck! ::MickeyMo
