People making a lot ADR's but cancelling the ones they don't wish to keep

I book, then if we need to make a change, I hod onto current ressie until I can get what we'd like, once new ressie is booked, I cancel orig one in the same call. I was just able to get CM's after 2 weeks of trying, and the CM commented about how many cancellations we had..they appear on your info along with the current ADR's. Our dates changed by one day, but it was enough to throw all of our ADR's off and I have been having to gradualy make the changes as they become availabe. Unlike when I first booked our ADR's in April...get everything in one call! So, yes, please cancel once your plans are concrete...So, while it may not seem too terribly important, it can really make or break someones trip. Ther is another poster who has cancelled /postponed based on no TS availability.

schoen...nothing wrong with altering ADR's....I have MANY changes under our name...heck, I change resorts that often!

In terms of tying ADRs to reservation numbers, what about people staying offsite? :confused3

Still I'm OK, just managed to get an Ohana's breakfast for August 8th

Those questions bring me to wonder HOW to cancel a reservation at the last minute, say if I'm at park? Is there a courtesy phone somewhere, or can a CM reach dining for me?
You can go to Guest Services in the Parks to make or Cancel a Dining reservation. You can also use a house phone if you see one. We have done this. It works much better than going to the restaurant for a reservation.

Last Oct. we were to full for our dinner ressv. at Cape May so we called about 5 hrs befor so someone else could get in. We then wanted to use the TS credits for another night and had a lot of trouble finding a place. We called from the room phone and the cm was very helpful. We ended up eating at the Yacht Club Galley for dinner (had only had Breakfast there) and it was one of my favorite dinners of the trip. I can't help but wonder though if we would have been able to get into some of the other resturants we wanted. We walked by the Kona and only about half of the tables were filled, but they said there was no availability. Probably people double booking during the free dining.

I guess my point is don't make more ADR than you need and be sure to cancel if you cannot or are not going to keep them. Also try places that are off the beaten path that you may not have eaten before. You maybe plesantly suprised! :)
