We are leaving to "GO HOME" at the end of this Month, making it the second trip this year... and we will be there again in Nov. for our Anniversary...
Why is it when people ask us where we are going and we tell them Disney, do I get the eye roll:sad2: or the "you are going there again, don't you get tired of it". I am so sick of hearing that. We love it there, even if we relax from the parks, we love being at the pools at the resorts.
Does anyone else get this and are just tired of hearing it...

We get it from BIL but would not trade it for anything! We know that 99 percent of the time everything will go swimmingly and we will have a blast. The kids both love Disney so there is less fighting between them so it is worth it for us. We do something Disney every year even if we don't go to WDW we go to DL, DCL, or this year DLP so we get our Disney fix. Don't let those people get to you-know that you are going on a quality vacation where you are using your points for a beautiful resort and a more leisurely vacation.
Hope this helps-Elizabeth

I get the same reaction too. I just try to ignore it. Some think I am crazy because I love Disney so much. I look at it this way, life is filled with so many hardships and trying times that going to Disney let's me feel like I can forget about all the crazy's of life. For me, when I am there I feel it is truly magical. I feel bad for those that don't get to feel the whole magic behind it. They're missing out!

Go 5 to 6 times a year... from STL... :rolleyes1 They will really think your weird...

We love it!

We get that too...although some of the same people who are the eye-rollers are also the ones who advise people to seek my help when planning their Disney trips! We love Disney, so we just don't worry too much about the reactions we get from others!

We get that too mostly from my sister in law. She doesnt understand why we would spend all that money for DVC and we still have to pay for airfare and tickets to get in. She is a beach person. Everyone has their thing. I don't like the beach so instead I go to disney. Its my money, so don't worry how I spend it... Now I just won't talk about it with her anymore, she just doesnt get it.

I just say that we're going to Florida! Now that DS's family have moved there, I suppose people think we're visiting them.:goodvibes We usually are, in WDW.

My thoughts exactly... I don't care for the beach much either. So why do you care where I go on my vacation. DVC is the best thing we have purchased. Never would we be able to afford to stay at BLT on a cash ressie... Part of me thinks that it is jealousy with some people. And others (especially the ones who have never been) think it is for kids... OH well to each their own.

They are just jealous that they can't go 2 or 3 times. I sent a friend of mine and his family to WDW through my non DVC timeshare. I gave them a good deal on a room because he really though he would not like it. He loved it and told me next time i go back that he wants to go. Sometimes people just don't understand how magical it is. He is going with us in 2012. You gotta love making repeat customers.

Yes, I get the same thing, "Isn't that place just for little kids?" People who say this just don't get it! ;)

Thats exactly what we do. We live in the UK and get the 'don't you want to do something else instead for a change' comments all the time. We normally say 'We are going to Florida' now because basically its the size of England and therefore a lot to see. We infact only ever go to WDW!! This comment normally comes from people who may go to Spain one year, Turkey the next, cyprus the next, portugal the next, Barbados etc and each time they go they go to an all inclusive resort and sit next to a pool all day. They might as well just stick to one place for all they ever see is a concrete pool and building. Each to their own, its my money I will spend it how I want. I wouldn't dream of saying to them 'why do you just sit around a pool every day and do nothing':confused3

I LOVE WDW....;)

From SE Missouri. In most cases these are folks that have never been to either WDW or DL. They don't get it. They think WDW is a variation of Six Flags Over Mid-America -- or Branson.

:thumbsup2

I just got the same comment a few days ago. "Don't you get sick of it, and don't you want to go other places?" I point blank said, "NO!" That is our favorite place in the whole wide world! We went September 2010 for a week. We went in January 2011 for a week. We went in June 2011 for a week, We are going again this September 2011 for a week. We have a Disney Cruise in November 2011, and Yes We are going back again in January 2012. And this cycle will continue and continue.

Oh well, like everyone else has said, We will spend our money how we want and the rest don't understand it, are jealous, or have there own habit, that we don't get in their mug's about.....

Me, DW, DD7, DD4, DS2.

We all love it!

I just smile and say that it is cheaper than going to Las Vegas, and I can still eat like a king :D

Yeah, one time my brother asked "do they have new things to do each time?" And the "Don't you get tired of going there?" For us, we're still discovering new things each time, even after 6 trips, there are still things we've never done, plus of course the favorites we love. So this year, when he said he was brining his kids to Wildwood, NJ, for the third year in a row, I hit him with the "do they have new things to do each time?" ... followed right with the "Don't you get tired of going there?" :) Boo yah!

There are many places that we can choose to go to get away from it all...but we just feel most comfortable at Disney.... isn't that what a vacation is suppose to do? Help a person relax?
Thinking on this...Disney can be so many different vacations, it all depends on the planning.
1. Park emphasis
2. Resort emphasis
3. Explore restaurants
4. Explore shows
5. Explore other resorts
6. Enjoy all the above at different levels
7. Merchandise collecting...Pins, etc...
8. We're in Orlando...while disney is a focal point, there's so much to see out of the "world".

While my wife and i have our specific "must do's", we will generally say something like..ok....lets go on some tours this time, or, lets focus on "_____". That makes our vacation different each time, and still feeling very comfortable with our surroundings.

I'd take that over going to another destination with only "limited" resources to enjoy. To each his own. :thumbsup2

I get that a lot too. And I wish it didn't bother me .....but sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't depending on my mood at the time. ;)

Once I was exchanging instant messaging with someone who also happens to be a Disney fan and we were chatting about us going to Disney "Again" and I typed "Ya know, some people love the beach and some people love the mountains." And he responded with "And some people love The Mouse!" I loved that and sometimes that's what I'll say to people when they give me the "Again!" response....:)

You know, funny thing is, my DBIL and his family have gone to WDW every year, sometimes twice a year for 20+ years (they are DVCr's). When I started dating my DH, I couldn't understand why they went every year and to be honest, I thought it was weird and even made "alittle" fun of them for it (all in good humor though cause I do love them).

Skip ahead 12 years and I go to WDW for the FIRST time ever, with my DH.
6 mos later, we bought DVC and I'm a complete addict. I love WDW and I love my DVC even more. I'm a beach person too so I love the HHI and Vero Beach option.

I guess my point is, until I "got it" I didn't get it. So now, when people ask me or make comments, I just smile and move on. Yes, I drank the punch and it's awesome!
