People ignoring handicap parking signs

It was the only article I could find. They have said in interviews that they believe up to 50%. Their estimate, not mine.
So you used an article that pretty much completely contradicts your claim to try to back you up? Again, huh? Given that you thought an article estimating the rate as 10% made the 50% "not unbelievable", perhaps you also misinterpreted what "they" (no idea who "they" were) said.

LOL. If I knew how to post videos I would post the sound bites where they said that. But flashing back to my statistics classes in college, those numbers are entirely within range if you were to check every placard.

You should probably re-read your statistics books. Using a binomial approximation, the 95% CI around the 10% estimate is about 8.4% to 11.4% - the probability of the "true" proportion being 50% is very, very, very, very small.

But what do I know, I just have a PhD in the area (epidemiology), you have your memory from statistics class. For record, the actual number of placards has no bearing on the probability - just the sample size does.

Alright, now you are just yanking my chain. :badpc:

What is with these giant handicapped spaces at some Walmarts? Does any legitimate situation really need this much space? I think it's bigger than my first apartment.

Those are for vans with wheelchair ramps. They have those at Sam's club. They are clearly marked VAN. I have never seen a van in one, just cars.

I have a "permanent" handicapped parking placard issued by the state of Florida. It's valid for five years - the "permanent" refers to my handicap. We are allowed two placards, both with the same registration number. This number is duplicated on the placard registration (if you get two placards, you get two registrations), which includes my name, and which must carried in the vehicle displaying the placard. If the placard is used when I'm not a passenger, the driver is subject to a ticket and fine. We have always been required to obtain the placards and registrations (including duplicates of lost registrations) in person at the DMV. Don't know if it's relevant, but Osceola County DMVs will not process any documentation for any other Florida county.

I have no patience tor anyone using a handicapped placard to which they are not entitled or for anyone parking in a handicapped space without the placard or a permanent handicapped license plate; I'll report them every time.

How does "tvguy" not know how to upload a video clip to a message board??
Mrs. TVGUY has been a video editor for 36 years and SHE doesn't know how either! I will look for it when I get to work tomorrow.
